Thanks, and I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope it is something that you can recover from and that you get another chance. Your order wasn't with Tewkesbury was it by any chance?
Thanks Athboy, recovered already, but the injury flares-up now and then, so I am considering Taycan.
It was on SW coast, not Tewkesbury.

Glad to hear you've recovered. Reason I asked is that someone had to pull out of their Feb build slot infront of me. Mine was originally Feb, but slipped back, until they left the queue.

Taycan will be a wonderful choice, i'm sure.

I really like your aventurine green colour! Suits 718 perfectly and is not a seasonal fashion statement.

Just posted this on the Merc forum. Anyone considered an AMG GT over the 718? Thought I’d check while I wait patiently for production likely in 2023

Have a deposit on for the Porsche, but the AMG seems like an interesting alternative for similar money (approx 80K). Car would be a semi retirement present that would be my fun car that could also do longer trips into France once my taxi driver duties of ferrying kids everywhere are reduced. Ex TVR owner ( and I've seen a few posts of people moving to these cars from TVR ownership). Would be interested in thoughts.

Am absolutely loving mine, although by god does it need the short gears mod. Gearing is ridiculous, the top of 2nd is over 80mph! With different ratios and a slightly more tuneful exhaust, I think you will have the perfect modern sports car.

Looks fantastic.

How did you do the rear badge, I would have liked to have done that myself also!

Just about to throw another £6k into it for the short gears mod! Essential IMHO

The standard ratios are laughably long, 2nd tops out at 82mph, 3rd at 114 from memory. I’m having RPM Teknik change the crown wheel and pinion to make all ratios 14% shorter, and then fitting a longer 6th so 6th will stay roughly as it is. Should transform the car

Thanks. It will only be 3 or 4 weeks if my experience is anything to go by.

This mod must surely be one of the most anticipated in Porsche history!

Each to their own of course and I know many owners on here are dismissive of the much maligned long gearing and consider it a non-issue.

From what I've read even speccing the PDK version doesn't really shorten the gearing much so a reliable retrofit from a reputable outfit like RPM might just be the solution many folk are looking for that enables keeping the joy of a manual but with more access to the higher rev ranges of that awesome powerplant without doing autobahn spec speeds!

I really hope this transforms the car and look forward to hearing your impressions of the results. Do you mind if I ask when you might be getting this done?
