All had the option off Black with the silver trim or all Silver .if you see any with all black they have been painted /refurbed .I prefer the Silver myself have them on my 987 Spyder . Golf clubs fit in the boot of the Spyder cannot comment on the R .
Thank you. From a google image search, it seems 2 sets of golf clubs can fit in the R. Not that I play! Was more picking up on the previous comment around the overhang design. Yep I am leaning towards all silver on a black R. Looks great on this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EN4Tcw3766o

Beautiful - that tempts me all the more to get silver wheels. I like the stealthy black but all silver looks very classy on a black R. I believe the colour to be shadow grey or shadow silver, something like that.

Oh, one other query we touched upon a while ago, on the discs have surface rust on them. Out of curiosity, what would you recommend as a replacement set (I am not a track person). I ask as I look online and there is tons of chat on upgrades for track use, but for non-track use, any suggestions.

I can't quite work out this page...

https://www.bremboparts.com/europe/en/catalogue/po...

...as it just details Ceramic brakes which I don't have.
Have you ever owned a car before ?

yep a 68 Ford Mustang Fastback and a Porsche 944 Turbo, so never owned a modern car as such. I'll retract the query, its fine, I'll ask a garage!
Thanks though.

Thank you Jon. Good to know that the guitar will fit in the back.
I am picking it up Friday, as the car is in Wales, for which the lockdown restrictions were very strict - any journey in the country could only be 5 miles (or something like that). Now it is relaxed more, I'll be heading down this Friday coming to collect it. Also waiting means I can tax from the 1st of the month.

The drive back to London, via seeing my parents in Bristol (my hometown) will be a nice drive to allow me to get used to the car on some straights first. I recall when I bought a car out in the countryside and the initial drive was really stressful, narrow lanes, etc, whilst trying to get used to the car, which was a 68 Fastback, so I'd value more of a straight run initially!
Might see you around town then! there is a few R's i see in London, followed one around Clapham Common the other day was quite cool

I'm also often along the M4 to between London and Swindon

Thank you everyone again for your kind words of support and advice. Its a lovely community here huh.

One query - I have seen some R's there the Spyder Wheels are black with the silver lip and some where it is all silver. Was that an option originally for either, or have people had them repainted to all silver since?

I'll probably keep them black with the silver edge to begin - yet a black R with silver Spyder Wheels is quite a god look I feel.
The Black wheels with the silver lip were an extra £ 991.00
Enjoy.

If anyone is thinking about selling their R then please message me. Must be manual, ideally with my ‘big three’ options (spyder wheels, buckets, PSE). Not bothered about A/C or Nav.

I’ve viewed/enquired about all those recently and currently for sale on PH, AT and at OPC’s but haven’t found the right one at the right price yet.
Thanks

Cue 10 pages of discussing the "must have" Cayman R options and why you absolutely must have them or your leg will fall off! biggrin

Best of luck with your seach. smile

Spec is personal, but there is a LGBTQI spec.

did you not fancy my old Periot car ?

not much else about, These are £45k car really if you are serious about the cars and demand the low miles.

Yes it’s absolutely lovely. Just feel asking price a little high (though I could be wrong) considering it’s now high on owners and needs a couple of minor things sorting to satisfy my OCD.
