Gosh if those details are correct then a PDK car will feel very different to a manual on the road.

GT3 manual has longer gears than the PDK like I thought and is quite substantial to the speed in each gear. Guy in manual vid is not redlining either.

Only 5th and 6th are very slightly different.https://youtu.be/Ia1Lv_kCofs

The first four gears are identical (although 4th is 1.344 in the man and 1.34 in the PDK) and the 5th and 6th gears very similar (1.081 and 0.881 man v 1.11 and 0.96 PDK respectively)

Okay, please tell me how to read the table as they just look like a set of numbers to me

So the top of 2nd gear on the PDK, like the manual, gets me a ticket on every road and highway I drive on. So how does PDK solve the problem echoed just about by every reviewer with their incessant complaints of the tall gearing.
Easier to downshift to first ;-)av185 said:

The GT3 PDK has lower gearing compared to the GT3 Manual even in gears 1-4 due to having a 4.5% difference in the final drive ratio. The first four gears are identical (although 4th is 1.344 in the man and 1.34 in the PDK) and the 5th and 6th gears very similar (1.081 and 0.881 man v 1.11 and 0.96 PDK respectively)

Sorry, messed up the formulas. Now corrected. However a very worthwhile improvement nevertheless, evidenced from the acceleration times which are better over the entire speed range and considerably better lower down. A PDK GT4/Spyder is getting proper quick. In the hands of a normal driver who doesn’t smash his or her way through a manual box flat shifting as quickly as possible, a PDK car will be considerably quicker.
The car is going to feel subjectively more lively and responsive with the lower gearing even if objectively there isn’t that much difference in outright performance. However this is why we buy sports cars for how they feel and the current car to me feels a bit neutered.
Bring it on, can’t wait

Ah OK, not quite as dramatic as the first set of figures, sadly!

Yes, the sheer driver appeal of an auto box is what all car enthusiasts have called for However a very worthwhile improvement nevertheless, evidenced from the acceleration times which are better over the entire speed range and considerably better lower down. ? The PDK is slower 100-200 where it matters and that’s with its fast shift which saves at least 2/10th a shift. However a very worthwhile improvement nevertheless, evidenced from the acceleration times which are better over the entire speed range
Did auto sport just test the PDK and it lapped slower ?
PDK should get a 25bhp lift to match the bhp to the wheels on the manual.

Pretty sure I'm changing my spec before it's locked in to a manual. Sure the PDK will be great, but rolling there will be nothing in it. May well be my last chance to have a manual NA car again. The 2k saved can go to Akrapovic.
Plus the £2k saving on the manual GT4 v PDK clinches it imo.Bear in mind the PDK GT3 was priced the same as the manual. And this was a better gearbox too being PDK S v boggo PDK for the GT4.
