i thought that was the case, they gave me a long date of next tuesday delivery, so i guess it will be next thursday! oh well whats another week, ive waited 9 months already! great colour choice by the way! although i would say that as an expectant GT silver spyder owner!
Mine docked here last Saturday and won't be ready for me until well into next week! In the meantime no further word since dealer told me all this on Tuesday and can't be anytime soon as I have had no final invoice to read either But having waited 10 months since lock down another week won't make much difference now

Hope the next Boxster Spyder comes along asap as I never got a GT4 or a 981 Spyder even though I have had 12 Porsches in various models at least 5 from OPC still not lucky enough to get either of the above.
Can't come quick enough for me.
All those lucky enough to have got one enjoy your so lucky.

Probably will be 4 years i would have thought before next Spyder. I must admit I do count myself very lucky - I managed to catch a wobbly customer who dropped out of his order just before Christmas. I emailed 25+ OPC's & managed to strike lucky. Can't come quick enough for me.

Hope it's not 4 years I will go mad I am not the only one I know of lots of other disappointed potential owners who can afford the ridiculous mark ups on so called used flipped as some refer to.
I hope these models come down to list to give us all a fair chance.
Or Porsche make some bloody more especially if you have interests or deposits.

Your points, as always, are valid, but i think they look much better in real life because they don't seem to be just at the front, if you know what I mean. Also (imho), the Spyder needs decals (987 or 981) and as these are are the official Porsche ones, they are right for the car.
To contradict what I've said however, these are listed as a part for the GT4 but not for the Spyder.
I think a meeting of GT3 RS and Spyder is required to settle it, when are you free?
Always happy to talk decals - if you are ever passing the East Midlands , let me know To contradict what I've said however, these are listed as a part for the GT4 but not for the Spyder.

It's so much more enjoyable than the 991.2 I'm currently using as a loaner while it's back at OPC Cardiff.
Funny thing - tonight I went for a blast and popped into the local supermarket on the way back - a guy in a 991 C2 Cab followed me in and looked at the Spyder with a look that went something like this :Oh dear , you can only afford a Boxster , how sad - look I've good a 911 , and the new one to boot .
Now obviously this may be completely in my head , but I wanted to explain to him how misguided he is , how I once had his car and in comparison it feels like a barge compared to my Spyder and nothing in the world would make me swap - I wanted to do this not to make myself feel better , but because I'm quite evangelical about the car and I think everyone should have one !
As I say maybe this was not what he was thinking at all - maybe I should just shut up .......

One thing to bear in mind is the vast majority of the cost is actually the depreciation on a car - I bet even with modest overs it will depreciate less than most - it just takes a bit of getting your head around I hope these models come down to list to give us all a fair chance.

+1It's Man Maths gone mad. That is to say they actually work. You never know what is around the corner but I suspect Spyders (987 and 981) will always attract a premium. This means that if you buy with a premium you wont gain when you sell, where as those that got one, from new, will. If you can afford it, buy one, I don't think you will be disappointed.
I honestly never thought about them attracting a premium, naive looking back, but really enjoyed my 987 Spyder, loved the 981 design from the moment it was released and just knew it was going to be a great car as a Spyder.

Honestly I don't think many would complain if the Spyder was £90K but my well specified example at £69K is just an incredible bargain.
It's an amazing car! I'm lucky to have both and don't think I will ever sell either of them (unless I have to) in favour of another car. Lucky enough to have an F10 M5 and that would go first every day of the week (and I would still have 4 seats with both Spyders!). PS - I also have an understanding wife which helps.....
Had my intention at 2 PCs for GT4 and it became clear I was not getting one I went to 4 PCs for the Spyder 3 of which I had bought 3 Porsches from.
Not rich so only wanted a very basic spec car only added about £1,200 options so no way i can go for over listed priced cars.
After all it's a sports car for fun I don't need loads of kit I know some do.
So will have to wait for next Gen Spyder or hope the 981 Spyder comes down in the next Couple of years.
