So, my GTS was updated to Phase 3 end of last month and when I checked with my OPC I was told I’ve got till the end of the week to firm my spec up.

I’m still dithering on PDK v Manual, although current spec is PDK. I’m not going to reopen that debate again as it’s been done to death on here and on other forums. Also on the fence with Bose, climate and upgrading the extended leather on the racetex to the full GTS interior pack. Again, all this has been covered loads on this thread… I’ll flip a coin if I have to!

I do have a couple of questions though:

1) what sort of timeframe am I now looking at for delivery, does anyone have any insight? My OPC has said October, which feels a bit optimistic to me.

2) I was planning on getting a front end PPF done through the dealer with whoever it is they use (OPC is in Leeds). Has anyone had this done and have any views, tips or info on cost. If memory serves it was £2.5k plus vat, which seems expensive, but if it protects the car, then prob worth it?

Thanks
Sorry but you have to have climate. Friend had only AC and he regrets it every time he drives the car. Cost is small for the pain it saves.

I thought Stage 3 on the app meant scheduled for production and spec locked?

Anyway, echo the above. Standard air con will drive you absolutely potty. Climate is one of the only true must-haves imo.

Definitely agree, just shy of £600 but you will not regret it.
I wouldn't buy a used one without it.

I have it on my 981S and it is great, worth the extra.
I cannot believe how many of the 25 AM have been specced without. Only one of the 25s currently on A/T has it and that is a manual.

I paid £1600 for PPF on my GTS for full front end, wing mirrors and rocker panels from Staffordshire Car Car.

WRT options, deffo add climate. I wouldn't worry too much about the GTS interior package. Its expensive for what it is. Opt for Race-Tex interior with Extended leather. Much nicer imo.

Be mindful that if you add options now, it may push back your build but best to check with your SA.

On the interior pack you mention above, it replaces the alcantara with race tech on the sports seats (like in the Carrera T), and you get black stitching? The extended leather what does that remove/ add compared to interior pack? what does it do to the silver bits (carbon won’t the interior pack).

Race-Tex is Porsches version of Alcantara.

As standard with the GTS you get :

In black leather: seat bolsters and headrests. In Alcantara® in black: seat centre, steering wheel rim, door handles, door panel armrests and storage compartment lid (partially), gearlever/selector. GTS logo in black embroidered on headrests

Extended items in leather with Race-tex gives (£1242):

Smooth-finish leather: dashboard upper section including airbag cover, airbag module, instrument shroud, door panel upper sections, centre console side sections, seat bases, seat bolsters and headrests, and side stripes of centre console main storage compartment lid. Black Race-Tex: dashboard lower section including glove compartment cover, steering wheel rim, gear lever, seat centres, door pulls, door centre panels, door panel armrests and centre of centre console main storage compartment lid. Door panel trim strips in Silver colour. "GTS" logo embroidered on headrests

GTS Interior Package gives (£3380):

Stitching, seatbelts, the rev counter dial and the “GTS” logo on the headrests in contrasting colour of Crayon. The package also includes floor mats with Black edges, with the stitching and the “PORSCHE” logo in contrasting colour. The dashboard, door panel and centre console trims are all in carbon.

However, you can only get the GTS package with Race-Tex interior with extensive items in leather, Black

Ok thank you, I see the point now on getting something similar for cheaper. Only downside for me is the silver rather than the carbon, I can probably live with that. Ideally I don’t want white or red seal belts, bit much for me.

You can always spec carbon separately

Found it in the configurator (eventually). This is what I’m going for, race-tex and extensive extended leather and carbon trim! Perfect spec for me, but more stealth than the white or red. Thank you all very much, didn’t realise it was possible

And it’s cheaper than the GTS pack, bonus!

Same as mine, it does look nice with Gentian Blue.

Had one more play and landed on the final answer I’ve sent to the dealership (for now)

Instead of the carbon dash I’ve gone for black leather. Half the price and makes it match the extended leather I added. Appreciate that might be too dark for some.

Only boggle is it won’t let me change the gear shift unless I opt for the GT steering wheel which I don’t think I want to do. That and the door handles will be the only remaining silver bits I think

Hi all, as a first time buyer of a new car from an OPC (BGTS OTR c.85k), I realise there’s no movement on price, but my saleswomen has said if I email her with a wish list of Porsche merch, she’ll do her best to get me some goodies, but as it’s mostly horrendously overpriced tat (over 4 grand for a few bits of luggagerolleyes) the only thing I can come up with is an outdoor car cover.

So my question is this: given you accepted paying list for your new Porsche, what sweeteners were you able to negotiate?

Thanks in advance.

Outdoor car cover is a bad move. It'll damage your car and do more harm than good. Search for other threads on this subject.

How about the windstop seeing as its a Boxster you are getting.

The 4 new Porsches I have bought I have asked for and received the motorsport teddy for the wife, not much but better than say an umbrella or cup and saucer.
But 2 of those cars I bought at discount, oh those happy days when you could even get discount on list ( not factory ordered though)

I went for the black leather trim with the black extended leather and it's turned out really well, not dark at all, classic sports car look - i'm really happy with it. Also, opted for the brushed gear knob and GT wheel which i really like and they complement the leather. However, in hindsight the MF wheel might have been more practical as i can't skip music tracks with the stick - 1st world probs etc but worth bearing in mind.

After 13 months I’ve just heard that my car has finally been built!

How long does it typically take until delivery?

I can’t see a picture on myporsche of my car, even though it is at build phase 4. Do you know where can I find it?
