Had the call from Porsche, slight delay to dealership (no big deal extra week or so)
The bad news was the Stop Sale notice....
Hit by the BOSE amp shortage, looks like 50% of the SE's cars got hit with it...
So that could be a week... or it could be Five weeks.... until the OPC gets the parts.
I will be able to go and see it though..

Ordered mine last week - for delivery in Q1/Q2 2024 - the later the better for me.
Cayman, PDK, Aventurine, black callipers, satin platinum wheels, climate control (thieves!), PDSL, smoker pack (to cover the hole) and that’s about it.
Let the wait begin…
Nice spec. Aventurine is luuuuuuuuurvly but I am just a tad biased!Cayman, PDK, Aventurine, black callipers, satin platinum wheels, climate control (thieves!), PDSL, smoker pack (to cover the hole) and that’s about it.

I realise it's a few years ago, but what did it cost to get the bumper repainted? I've been quoted £700 for PPF of front bumper, cills and the bit around the air intake. I'm not really a PPF believer but feel these bits could get battered and wondering whether to PPF or just repaint later.
I just checked back through old emails, and front bumper paint was £450 + VAT in 2018. In the end, they did that, painted a mirror that I had caught on a gate post the day after I collected the car new, touched in a few very small stone chips above the windscreen, machine polished the whole car and SwissVaxed it for £960 + VAT all in. That was at the local Porsche Recommended body shop, who have done some outstanding work for me then and since. It was better than new for the 6 months I owned it after that, and somehow I managed not to put another mark on it before I traded it in.
Jury's still out for me on whether PPF is worth it for my everyday road car, even on the front bumper. I've gone for it this time, and have yet to decide if I will again on the next one.
However, once I get the GT4 I use for occasional track days to better paint condition, it will be getting PPF on the parts that have suffered with stone chips, and there are a few of those!
Liam
If you want to keep the paint original and plan to keep the car for a long time then PPF is a good investment but these are really prone to chips front end and sides. I'm not sure you'll get the value over a shorter term.
The best advice I can give you is to lead the pack if driving in groups.

I’ve PPF head lights on current BMW - laser lights and a small fortune to repair - I did it myself with some Suntek film.
When GTS turns up I’ll defo get the headlights PPFed, debating about bumper.. but she will be a keeper (until a 911 at least)..
Those with the Aventurine 👍 yep debated long and hard over agate or aventurine; aventurine has a certain extra to it.

Would PPF fill in existing chips? I have large number of tiny chips that drive me nuts when I walk away from the car and I look back at the lights still glowing for few seconds. When GTS turns up I’ll defo get the headlights PPFed, debating about bumper.. but she will be a keeper (until a 911 at least)..

When you out screen protectors on a scratched/pitted phone screen, the scratches and chips disappear, so it might look better with ppf on headlights. Pivo said:

I'm seriously thinking of getting mine fully PPF'd now.
I've been lucky (and unlucky) enough to not have to use the car as a daily since i've owned it but that's now changed.
I just struggle with the idea that it's only really going to benefit the next owner and that i'll probably not get the PPF money back

It certainly ain't cheap. I've been quoted around £2.5k here in Dubai for Expel all over. Front end only will be around half that. Really in two minds
The only bonus is that my GT Silver seems to hide marks pretty well
Thats cheap, cost in the UK has rocketed up for full coverage. was about 3.5K + VAT 4 years ago. Its now a fair chunk more. The only bonus is that my GT Silver seems to hide marks pretty well
