Boxster Spyder
Discussion
The Cameron car has no heated seats that's a big no for a convertible for me especially if it turns chilly you just can't put the roof up on the move you have to make a stop obviously.
Porsche sat navs are no big deal a Tom Tom or Garmin do the job at circa £100 and you can keep it updated.
I know some of these cars have been speced up but need to drop back to list for me anyway as not in the position to pay overs.
Looks like many Spyders & GT4s are not selling as well after the rush for those who never got a new one and could stretch to the huge over list price.
So maybe the price will start to soften a little as time goes on.

I reckon quite the opposite. Once they have all sold, which they will eventually, then prices will stay consistent. Or eventually rise when the next GT4/Spyder is turbo (maybe). Just look at the 991 GT3, still sitting at £130k plus. Curious to see what happens when the Gen 2 is launched though.Porsche sat navs are no big deal a Tom Tom or Garmin do the job at circa £100 and you can keep it updated.

This is correct. Next Spyder more likely to be turbo than the next GT4. And much lower Spyder numbers guarantees rarity and both factors will inevitably support prices.Gen 2 GT3 will inevitably affect Gen 1 values although supported to degree by 997.

Just a waiting game to see how things pan out if next Gen Spyder GT4 are Turbo or N/A my feeling is N/A 6 pot but only my humble opinion of course.
If there Turbo 2.0 / 2.5 could be a bad mistake for these so called limited edition models then they really might be sold in very small numbers.
If that happens maybe prices will stay stable or these might increase in a good few years as well.By then probably be to old for either of them.

Nope
They look good
Sat in one did not like dash/trim
Not that it really matters in the fun stakes, but are you really suggesting that the deliberately retro (but ergonomically dreadful) Mini interior is actually better than the Suzuki? It seems to me that BMW have copied the worst features of the original Mini (dreadful ergonomics and bouncy ride) and ignored the best - wonderful packaging and good value. They look good

Certainly is allowed.
But the big question. With the same money what would you replace your Spyder with?
the 987.2 Spyder for half the money but the better drive ! a st roof is a st roof so you may as well have the better car with the stter roof. But the big question. With the same money what would you replace your Spyder with?
good time to get out of a £80k Spyder into a £40k one imo net result is it's only cost you £20k to get into the 987.2 Car, that's a win win in any ones book.

If you're over 6 ft as I am there is much more room in the new spyder, plus it looks better, nicer cabin, sounds better and has a better roof !good time to get out of a £80k Spyder into a £40k one imo net result is it's only cost you £20k to get into the 987.2 Car, that's a win win in any ones book.
40k really isn't that much these days either...

Whilst I have never read a single review that follows your 981 Spyder loathing those of us luckily enough to actually own and drive this Model Spyder are having as much fun as one can have at this price level and no matter how hard you bang on what a pile of poo it is trust me on this one you are talking total bks
Peace
Thanks Fokker, all due credit on the colour choice to the wife, I wanted banana yellow! Or mid life crisis red, as she called them both! ! It dies look good in GT silver though always a different shade under different lighting, as for a 60k 981 spyder I don't think many were ordered "out of the box spec'

Why don't you get off the keyboard and go and drive one then report back with facts and not fiction

Why do some still bang on about what Spyder is best. Both are good, both have advantages / disadvantages. They have different price points but both will maintain their value provided they are looked after and don't have crazy high milage. I know someone with both cars I have discussed the finer points in detail as we all have. He loves them both but would probably keep the 987 if pushed to choose. I have a 981 and love the thing. If I had to down grade for financial reasons I would also seriously consider a 987. Lets just celebrate them both for what they are.
