Premium Offered For My GT4

I've heard that as with the 991.2 GT3, numbers of GT4 being imported are going to be a lot higher than previously, so as with 991.2 GT3 silly premiums will be short lived and should settle close to list or under within 12-18 months. If you're not in a hurry then hang-fire for the minute. That's my opinion anyway... Feel free to abuse me ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
I think it’l be less than 18 months....if people are right about 992 GT3 coming next year that’s a lot of GT cars looking to find a home. ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

Similar here. I've only bought one new car from my OPC 3.5 years ago and on that I even got a discount. Not everyone has to play silly buggers to get a GT car so the odd person may get tempted to flip to make a few quid.
Try asking for a gt4rs or a GT3. It great new people with porkers are getting GT4 and Spyder slots though. I had never bought a new Porsche car before my GT4 either.

So any idea when the next PDK version is to be released ?
Not sure if PDK misses the point with this car......
Although I generally prefer 'manuel' on GT Porsches, PDK could well be a good call on the GT4 as it will address the longstanding inappropriate gearbox ratio issues with the 'manuel'. Even better if PDK S although this looks doubtful imo.Not sure if PDK misses the point with this car......
I am waiting to see what the extra cost ££ is for the PDK as is likely with the GT4 compared to the parity pricing of boxes on the GT3. Probably be c £2.5k.
There was someone from the Netherlands posting saying the Dutch PDK GT4s will be arriving late Spring into early Summer so atm it could well be the case that the UK ones will land at a similar time and I would agree with this at this early stage.
Summer/Autumn is the expectation I think based on rumours of 'late 2020' being seen in the Porsche ordering system.
I think it'll be regular old PDK from the rest of the 718 range, PDK-S will be saved for the GT4RS.
PDK vs manual on the GT4 will be down to personal preference, there's no right or wrong option IMHO.

I think due to how lazy the old car felt, PDK would be the right option on the 718 as it's the only way to wake it up a bit.I think it'll be regular old PDK from the rest of the 718 range, PDK-S will be saved for the GT4RS.

leaving the normal new flat 6 models offering a choice.
many people will end up in 718 Spyder and GT4 when the normal new flat 6 models would be a better fit.
you yourself never wanted a GT4 stating you don't track, but have gone for one now you can get one !! so very odd imo having to drive a CUP2 tyred track car as daily transport !!
I was out in my GT3 last Thursday it was the most unusable thing I could have taken, but was due a recall at my OPC, never went above 30 mph or above 4k revs, a horrid drive, I even cancelled a road test as the car was just not safe to drive most of last week.
the car can cope with a bit of wet , but once below 6oc and standing water, it's a very dangerous car to drive.

Neither my current 981 GTS or upcoming 718 GT4 are dailies, they're weekend cars only.I've decided to go for the GT4 as it will be more of an "occasion car" for weekends and you only live once.

Last Thursday at 6.30AM i drove my 458 through some snow and biblical rain 150 miles to Ferrari Swindon for its annual service. It had new MP4Ss K1 tyres fitted and it felt rock solid in all conditions even through standing water. The MP4Ss should be the tyre of choice for all powerful sports cars for all road use and Cup 2s kept for dry track days.
In the same conditions in my old GT3 on Dunlops i'd have turned round after 10 miles and gone back home.
I took out a Ferrari GTC4 Lusso on Pirellis for a test drive and even with 4WD it still lost traction when i put my foot down.!

For goodness sake man up the pair of you. Just like any car, tyre, weather combination you just drive to the available grip it’s an integral part of sensible driving. Yes Cup 2 tyres are poor once the temps go down and in the wet, however it’s still an easy job; nice and smooth, early gearshifts, leave plenty of room etc etc. At least in the Porsche the throttle is easy to modulate and the engine nice and progressive low down. I have about half of my fleet on Cup 2,s and they get used all year round as and when necessary. “The cars not safe” !!!!!!!! Rubbish. What you mean is the driver is not competent.

You must have misread my post..To clarify i DID drive my 458 at 6.30 AM in snow and freezing temps and later on through prolonged torrential rain..FWIW despite seeing literally thousands of cars on that 150 mile jaunt i never saw another Ferrari,Lambo,Macca or GT Porsche..For goodness sake man up the pair of you. I have Michelin Cup 2s on my new RS and drive it in all weathers however MP4Ss make any GT Porsche or Ferrari much safer and more usable in our typical prolonged wet and cold Winters..Both are amazing tyres however in my amateur hands i feel much safer with MP4Ss over the Winter months.

I have a slot, and a signed contract on ordering the PDK version. The 718 GT4 is on order as a MT version, but will be altered into PDK ASAP. Expectation is that this is possible april 2020 (2nd quarter 2020)
ETA according contract; June 15th 2020 (FWIW)
Reason for PDK indeed the shorter ratios and my sublime PDK experience with my first Porsche ever; 981 C GTS (I have no further buying/owner history on Porsches, maybe it wil convince potential buyers with no ownership history a slot on a 718 GT4/Spyder is not a dream in the Netherlands, but I suppose it could be otherwise in different countries)

Oh hang on Cheib as well then: "it’s a dangerous car in those conditions"
The cars not dangerous!!!!! Its the nut behind the wheel!!!! I am prepared to bet that the GT3 will still stop quicker than your average Joe in his Zafira on ditchfinders in identical conditions.
