I'm not saying it's magnitudes of difference, just heavier. enough for the difference to be felt.

My clutch isn't worn. The 997 RS/GT3 is just a more physical car than the Gt4.This makes it less suitable for daily commute is all.

Other than being low, the Gt4 is comfortable and deals with uneven roads very well. Something that can't be said for older GT cars.

Remember driving the white PEC 997 RS a couple of years ago. The clutch showed some wear and was knee crunchingly heavy.

GT4s clutch is nicely weighted.

Values set to tick upwards when next weeks Autocar comes out.

Missed buying a hard copy but have found the article online... The love for the GT4 remains ever strong. Also a little reference in the article to the next one being NA..

I have no issues in a manual in traffic, it's called looking ahead or paying for the toll ;-p
Unless its a 996 GT3 and you have a dodgy knee, how is the dodgy knee now?

Youve just lost weight thats all ;-)

(i still think youve got me mixed up with someone else) but im ok thanks, the operated on shoulder has become 'frozen' so another operation required to unfreeze it this month = no track days until next year now. Was hoping to get one in October time but alas not

Enjoyable review. Not sure what he means by the 'refreshingly slow' gearing though...!

The sweet spot, As he was talking all Caymans and not really the GT4, the Cayman R yet again wins and hits more of Autocars remit, esp as a drivers car needs the best steering and the R has any eps car licked, is also smaller and lighter.

People will catch on soon, it just takes 10 years, its def a future slow burner.

Forgive me, but are you actually a brand ambassador for the Cayman R? I can't think of any other reason why somebody would bang on about them SO much otherwise? I don't care how good they might or might not be to drive, they look ste compared to the the GT4. Call me shallow, but that's enough of a reason for me to not give give a flying sausage how good (in your view) they to are.

lol I have stated a lot of people are shallow and not interested how cars really drive.

I thought the Auto car review was interesting and the R hit most of what they were looking for In a drivers car.

I bang on about them because people seem to want drivers cars but buy other tat to be seen in rather than drive.

your quote says it all "I don't care how good they might be to drive" it's a shame that you don't care how a car drives !

Well that didn't take long... another slanging match with 911R.

Tickets available here....

This is a GT4 section David so lets not bang on about the virtues of a CR in a GT4 section. There is a specific section for those that want to wax lyrical about that particular model.

I think the point is taken.

Every model will have a niche in which it excels. It so happens that MrD is all about the particular road zone which the CR inhabits, which is also affected by the speeds you can legally drive plus other traffic and weather considerations.

TBH, I don't find it off. It isn't a GT car and is very well rounded for a factory stock vehicle. As we all know, a GT car truly comes alive on track and certain roads where speeds are high and traffic infrequent. In that environment, it is a much better car than the CR.

take it in context, why do you actually think the GT86 is rated at all?

Seeing as we are now off the GT4 topic, cue next Demons post how much better the/his 987 Spyder is compared to the 981 Spyder. hehe

The R is no GT car and looks like a pig. Thats basically why the market down values them. End of.

Anyway , back to the GT4.
