GT4RS - Availability, what’s the latest?

If you are only taking a 4RS allocation to make money and not for the car itself then it might well not be the car for you.
Not about making money, but more of what’s out there on the market which isn’t pending a snowballing loss. Other avenues I’d be interested in is a 991.1 RS. Looks like an absolute sweet spot at 140k

4RS is one of a kind. Bit unfair comparing new 4RS with an old car. 991.1 had engine issues?Other avenues I’d be interested in is a 991.1 RS. Looks like an absolute sweet spot at 140k

991.1 RS looks expensive imo for a nigh on 10 year old Porsche GT the value largely being propped up by low numbers but with an inferior (and suspect) original lower revving engine to the 991.2 GT3 which currently offers far better value at a lower c£120k price and overall a better package for a much newer car especially with the rarer manual gearbox option.

A few weeks ago I was quoted a £78,850 final payment for a brand new car on a 4yr PCP with lowest possible mileage (5kpa).
Hmm. Makes me wonder if it’s even worth it. I am told trade price would be less than list !If you did PCP the car and kept for 4 years it would then be a case of paying £79K odd to buy it outright yourself? While 4 years is a long time in terms of the economy etc I’d still be pretty amazed if decent 4RS are not selling for close to double that sum at that stage - against a backdrop of its rarity and new gen EVs etc….

But this is the last and pinnacle of the ICE engined Cayman platform, so at some point it will be a future classic and values IMO will rise.
But at least these cars are now being offered to mere mortals. And generally without too many caveats.
Yes, like the standard GT4, the overs game isn’t there any more. But hopefully that means more cars will now become available to people who actually want one and intend to use it.
I still thing that at the price, I’d rather have something with multilink rear, and at a push, double wishbones at the front with “that” engine in it.

I agree ... still noisy but that was a part of its design spec.
What I wouldn't want to do now is spec one new and wish to sell it shortly afterwards (or wear ear protectors on long journeys?) ... so worth a decent test drive !
Not so easy to blag a test drive mind you. Have a oook on Rennlist there’s an owner who tested the noise levels V a 992 cab I think - wasn’t a lot in it on the cruise at normal revs - the high revs were where the very high noise levels were. Agree with all of this, very fine balance between heart, head and wallet. Yes, like the standard GT4, the overs game isn’t there any more. But hopefully that means more cars will now become available to people who actually want one and intend to use it.

It’s an older car and plenty were made, they seem be be sticking around 140 to 150k retail for a nice one, I believe these dropped as low as 125k retail before covid. Wouldn’t shock me if they drop back as 991.2 gt3 and 992 gt3 come down in price.
Beautiful car mind, especially in ultra violet.
I think once final numbers are totted up when they finish building them the GT4RS is going to be anything but rare.
They are bloody everywhere already, in fact all the newish GT cars have been built in huge numbers with people all believing they've managed to get a rare car. Car meets are awash with 992 GT3'S and 718 GT4'S and Spyders and theres generally at least one GT4RS at any Porsche car meet.
None of this distracts from how good the car is to drive of course but Porsche have done some really magic marketing to sell thousands and thousands of something and it still be perceived as rare.

Unfortunately interest rates mean that financing really solidly medium-term valued cars is likely to result in a snowballing loss. Definitely a cash buyer's market at the moment.Other avenues I’d be interested in is a 991.1 RS. Looks like an absolute sweet spot at 140k

Naa. Most common GT car I see are GT3. Honestly not seen many 4s or spyders on the road.
