Useful stuff
Cheers. Interesting reading. There's an everyday useability about the GT4 which is fantastic, but as a weekend car for road driving I somehow crave it to be a bit more difficult to drive and exploit if that makes sense. It's so competent and balanced with very high limits. TBF this isn't a criticism of the car, more about the wants/needs of the driver I guess.997 GT3 has always intrigued me as it might provide that bit more "edge", and that legendary engine.
Different ball game on track obviously, where as you say 10 years further forward in the development cycle is an age.
Porsche certainly know what to charge £44.00 inc delivery from JJC race and rally gets you an extinguisher and bracket.

While that is perfectly true, it means you are driving on the falling part of the torque curve for much (probably most) of the time. Lots of people say it's the rush of top end power is what they like - well actually if you drive above peak torque that is somewhat misleading. Personally I find it more emotionally satisfying to drive a rising torque curve than a falling one. So I tend to change gear around 6500 on my 981S even when pressing on. Of course I'd actually produce faster acceleration times if I hung on to the gears longer. The only way I get a real buzz from revving right to the red line is on a 2 stroke bike where peak revs and peak power are only a few hundred revs apart.
Surely you mean peak torque and max revs only being a few hundred rpm apart? Otherwise...Peak power on the GT4 is 7.4k so only 400rpm off the red line. The 991.1 GT3 makes peak power at 8.25k, so 750rpm form the redline so is technically worse!
Peak power of my 997 GTS is at 7.3k so only 200rpm off the redline, and in my 620R it is at the redline

Mileage on the high side at that money imo.
rubbish again hence it sold straight away. Now, hope the new owner will get on the roads and circuit, drive the wheels off it, and keep it equally well maintained - as a intended.

That’s a nice car— identical to mine, but with the addition of PCCBs...!! Clubsport/Leather/Nav/Chrono/Carbon..... Fab example.... Yes, it’s got a few miles on the clock— but a real bargain for someone who actually wants to DRIVE the bloody thing, not just think about it’s resale value...!!Swimfinz said:

I agree. I'm sure it will be bought soon...if not already.boxsey said:
Cars always fall in price just after I buy one!
I wouldn’t worry too much— with summer (apparently!!) round the corner, and the lack of any certainty over the release date/price/engine type of the “718 GT4”, it’s highly likely 981 GT4s will hold firm.... Best car out there for the money right now imho.... Gassing Station | Boxster/Cayman | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
