Have switchable sports exhausts been banned or just dropped by Porscheconfused
Its still an expensive extra cost option on the new 992, so neither in response to your question IMO.
Yep but I think with the turbos you’re going to get a very dumbed down sound so a sport button is there but adds very little in reality. I don’t think the new GT4 / Spyder are going to be as raucous as before from what I’ve been told. Walliser said that to me and due to apparent new note stringent EU noise regs.
Im sure an after market exhaust will come along quite quickly. Before anyone jumps on the warranty bandwagon........don't care.

Just extended my warranty for 2 years - when you look at the cost (circa £1200) for 2 years, it’s actually good value compared to Mclaren etc (appreciate Boxster Spyder isn’t a super car, though personally sticker price aside I think I’d rather it than a mclaren for on road enjoyment).

Also installed n-rated Michelin PS4S as my rear tyres were close to the limit, and I want to enjoy the car as much as possible rather than sticking another set of Pirellis on. While I never had any problems, I understand the PS4S are a better tyre?

I know one at least one member here has done it, but how was the change? I want to take it out for a drive ASAP but haven’t got time to until the weekend, and the car has only just been delivered back.

That price I take it does not inc Porsche assist or the cost off the 111point check?

It is good value compared to most manufactures, but I didn't bother renewing. Let me know what you think of the PS4S. I'm tempted to get some. All my dailys ran PS4, great tyre. M3 guys are saying the PS4S sidewall is softer than the supersport. My fronts need changing soon but rears have 6mm on them as changed this summer, was thinking of going PS4S from the Pzero.

The PS4S really made a difference to the grip and confidence on track. Well worth the money to the p zeros. Makes me smile now thinking about Anglesey in feb with them on and a clear picture of snowdonia. 😊

Happy holidays everyone!

I’ve been trying to find a spyder with at least m/t, LWBs, non a/c, and nice to have if it had pccb and non radio.

If this is interesting to anyone please let me know!!!

Nice.

Yeah - I’ve not had much chance to drive mine yet, but in the brief time I did drive it, the best thing I can say is that it feels like I’ve had a suspension upgrade.

The PS4S must be a softer tyre than the Pirelli. Early days but so far very happy.

Only 3 cars in that spec, best spec though, you can feel the lack of weight for sure, I call mine my big Exige as it’s the closest thing to a Lotus Porsche has have ever made.
Would take a lot of money to pri it out my hands.

Mines the same spec apart from the PCCBs. Dealer said (eight years ago) that the costs vs benefit and potential replacement costs meant it was better to stick with standard brakes. Don’t know if he was right or wrong. I suppose time wi tell but I’ve only done 9,000 miles so it’s academic.

One of the few cars I wish I'd kept.

I sold with about 6k miles. Was a lovely car then but that was 5 years and almost 30K miles ago. These things were crazy value back in the day. Sold for £33.5K.

981 SPYDER - What a car!!!!! - New years day I took the car out for a blast with it being dry and took the roof down which I hadn't done for a while due to weather, Roads were fairly quite and more importantly dry and non greasy, spent the next 2.5 hours roof down really enjoying the thing. Average mpg 11.5 after 3/4 of a tank of non stop country lane and A road mischief. Roof off makes all the difference with these cars I think with that cracking engine above 4000 rpms sounding amazing, Literally laughing in the car at how good it sounds....shame the gear ratios are as follows:
1st - 42 ish
2nd 85
3rd 117
4th 145 ...... I mean who the hell designed a road car with these ratios?
Cant fault the gearbox or the brakes (non pccb) or even the steering, just a fantastic sports car and genuinely very impressed with the car.
Just wish the roads were as empty as that every day.
Just a rant at how impressed I am with the thing!!

Sounds awesome but those max speess per gear are horrible and really put me off. How far are these past the optimum shift point ?

In the real world the gear ratios are no "real" issue to the fun one has when cruising or giving it some beans - You're handle says it all go and experience the package first hand with a testdrive beer
