Yes, I have shown a few people your listing but they are not ready to move to a Cayman just yet. I'd have been chatting to you if my R hadn't come up last year.

I'd happily swap your LSD for mine too!! Out of interest, what was the overall cost to buy and fit it?
I got lucky and found a new boxed Wavetrac diff for sale on ebay from someone who never got around to fitting it to their car. I think I paid about £1200 for the fitting by a local race prep garage who know what they are doing checking backlash etc. but I had quotes over £3k for supply and fit from a big Indy.

Yes, they're not a cheap item to source and fit 'right'

Have you been posting it on FB groups much?
No tbh that is the one place I haven't tried.

Unlike others I do care about values as I enjoy driving different cars and I can’t justify doing that if the arse falls out of the market every time I want to sell. To anyone prepared to write off ~£40k fair enough, but to me it’s an asset and like my other assets I’d strongly prefer it to hold its value over time. Otherwise may as well join the PCP brigade or sign up to one of McLaren’s outrageous finance deals.

I find it very difficult to identify an exact premium/discount for manual/pdk etc but it’s all irrelevant if the value of the car stays stable as alluded to above. One thing’s for sure I wouldn’t pay a big premium for PSE, and the £6k or whatever Porsche retail the system at is irrelevant as no one is going to retrofit that with all the aftermarket options we have available.

Regarding the wider market I’d expect the usual seasonal correction heading into winter however I don’t foresee any collapse. Covid has left us printing money like never before and most of it ends up in assets.

In case anyone wants 'R' performance on a budget but with arguably better suspension and brakes then my Gen.2 modified 'S' is still up for sale, and having done 75,000 miles you wouldn't have to worry about keeping the miles off, just drive it and enjoy...

This looks absolutely awesome - all the best with the sale

I'd be trying 'Porsche For Sale, UK' and 'Porsche Owners UK'.

It's much easier to strike up a conversation with the seller on those formats. I'd say many seeing would be aware of your existing listing on AT but others not even looking at Cayman's may have their interest aroused.

Yes, I get what you mean. I'm working on the basis that I'll have mine a long time though so the miles will be worth the 'cost' for the memories alone.

I have had to leave mine outside for six weeks while moving house, it was covered in bird droppings etc. So I have treated it to a good clean this week end, need to use it more.

Looks fantastic. What technique do you use for removing bird droppings?

Always wanted to know where that road is. Could you detail the exact stretch of road please - I ask as I occasionally visit The Cotswolds. Thanks.

It's already getting rather too well publicised, so will send you a PM Julian smile

FWiW, I generally dislike black wheels immensely, but it's truly amazing what a difference a thin band of silver paint can make to them smile

I'm the same. It's weird Porsche have moved away from doing that on modern stuff

The new GT3 has the colour band options for the rims which is like a modern take upon it.

Julian, your profile doesn’t appear to be enabled to accept PM’s or emails.
I can’t remember how you activate them, but I’m sure it’s pretty straightforward.
Once you’ve got them set up, I’ll PM you the information, alternatively, if you’re happy to let me have your email address, I’ll email the details to you.
