Beautiful car and scenery there CLR. Nice roads as well in those photos. With regards the weight, what about if you stop and have 10lb of pork with chips and sauerkraut for lunch?

I’m lucky enough to have my perfect stable of daily driver (911 GTS), GT3 Touring for insane drives (not Touring) and Spyder for sunny days. If I had to jeep one due to Brexit induced austerity it would be the Spyder.....

Beautiful. And don’t get me wrong, I love the way it drives. I need to get mine to sound like Mr Demons but I can’t find the bit of the thread where you explained how to do it.....

OT, but have you done a write up of your Golf CS? What’s it like?

Complete noob question...

Is the Porsche writing down the side of the door a factory paint or decal? Thinking might look good on the new Spyder, but not sure if it’s an option.

It is a sticker.

A few 981 Spyder owners but them on or slight variations of it.

Anything that stays is good, and it's now on 27k miles so it's good.
reminds me of my Clio Trophy.

Elaborate please. I’ve toyed with the idea of one, but would have to be very engaging to drive. What other fwd cars can you compare it to.

As examples for me, R26R, too sterile and clinical. Most Hondas, much more engaging.

tricky as I am a hot hatch fan boy and had every clio etc. Not had Hondas as they are not me.

It's a modern Golf , so what can you say, I had a Audi S1 though which lasted 2 months !!

The Golf does what it says on the tin, I bought a 991.1 GTS to run as a daily as the Golf had done a few miles, I just sold the 991.1 GTS and kept the Golf,, says a lot.

is it engaging,, tricky, it's a great hot hatch with better steering feel than a 981 or 991.1 !!

It's 23.4 times better than the Audi S1 I swaped it for. and it reminds me of a Clio Trophy, the best Hot hatch I have owned.

It's my daily as I don't like soft cars and it is fun to drive, I don't drive it at week ends I have other stuff more engaging of course.

it has short shift, engine mount and PS4S tyres which all help the drive and I have torque de limited it so I get all the power when I want.

I had a normal GTi as a loan car and that just felt normal, so the CS is a fun car over a GTi PP.

you can remap them to 420 bhp so options for a sleeper as they have the stronger engine and it's very well put together.

mine is the CS not the CSS so if you went CSS you get a few more tweaks but £10k more expensive for not a lot.
I also need at least 1 car with rear seats, this is it.

I have the passive shocks which just work and offer great control, the CSS has mag ride !!! not a fan of that in any car PASM inc.

like my R, it's really the shocks which make the car and it flies over ground not many cars would like at speed. ie normal porkers !!!
made my 991 GTS feel like an elephant... and every one likes a turbo in a hot hatch to fire out the bends.

they do well on track also, buy one and go GT4 baiting :-)

Happy to oblige, just been out for a quick drive (only second time now) and took a few pics along the way:

That's my ex car. Brings a tear to my eyes to see it again, looks wonderful and now in some fantastic surroundings. Enjoy!

To be authenticate If you go for the sticker, make sure you only do the mid section of the spyder and DO NOT extend it to the front of the car

That part of the Porsche sticker was purely for the Cayman R.

Spyder:

Cayman R (note sticker in front of wheels)

Seen a couple of internet images with the front section done on a Spyder and it annoys my OCD smile

I’m not really one for modifying my cars but I’ve contemplated doing this before and got the thought back in my head recently. It stems from seeing the 918 with weissach package, where the windscreen was given a carbon fibre surround. It’s also a trick on other convertibles or coupes to ‘lower’ the car.

I’m not thinking fake carbon fibrewrap, but a matte/low gloss black wrap to match in with plastic where the mirror meets the windscreen.

I think it would have the effect of visually lowering the car and make the rear humps more of a feature.

Also seen on the 718 how they have blacked out the third brake light section, which I’d also thought of previously to ‘hide’ it.

Also think carbon mirrors would complement it, but that bumps up the costs.

Excuse the quick mock ups.... but what do you think to such an idea?

Thank you. I thought yours was the 2 seater, which is the one that appeals to me. How aggressive is the LSD?
