As expected used car sales are picking up substantially not just GT4s.

911s, Porsche GTs, Panameras etc etc all substantially reduced stock in the last week.

Prices are forecasted to rise into the Spring across the board especially on proper spec and mileage cars.

In fact Leeds sold 2 x GT4's last week ... one black, one yellow ... and the yellow car could have sold twice in 24 hours !

Are you mad? The car market is on its arse at the moment. You will find reduced stock as dealers become very wary of buying too much stock. Also people aren't changing cars as everyone is sorting on their hands. GT4s have dropped but 991 GT3s have dropped like a stone along with most supercars.

I deal with sports rather than premium and we are fairing better than the guys with the 50k plus stuff thankfully. None of this will change in the current political climate. But if you think there is any good news at all in the current car market you are very much mistaken.

Yes OPCs may have cleared some stock but they have been very keen to get deals done. I could sell 10 cars tomorrow at a loss if I wanted to....

Not really.

Proper spec and mileage GT4s and GT3s still sell well even in this market. Yes they have come down from their £180ks highs but we all know that it's nothing new happened with the gen 1 which is still retailing at list £ even 5+ yrs on and proper spec gen 2 cs cars still sell well upper £150ks. Check out the threads and OPCs used car lists.......All listed Porsche are well down in numbers as referred to above. No surprise for the right cars as we approach peak buying season.

At the other end of the spectrum we have a Company which buys ex fleet 2 to 3 year old stuff across the range and both petrol and diesel prices cap clean actually rose from Oct into November on many vehicles for which is a very rare occurrence at that time of year going towards Christmas. And as for the bullst talked about diesel values falling of a cliff try buying good clean low mileage diesel stock atm at sensible money...no chance due to restricted supply following falling new car reg.

the thing is special cars are still selling.

I have looked at 3 Lotus all have sold, while some have been for sale 12 months

991.2 GT3 in manual are down to 3 at OPC from 20 odd. TH just sold his RS in 1 day.

So while in general cars sales are down the toilet, nice cars are selling ok it seems, only so long people can sit looking at money in the bank, life is for living and people seem to be buying the right stuff.

wait till the sun comes out, sports cars will fly out the window again.

The odd car might be selling but the market is dead, the same cars have been advertised for months and moths and don’t forget prices are being reduced and garages are clean to make a deal which is totally different to a year or two ago.

Unless the new GT4 is spectacular (and I get an allocation) I will probably ask Jens to tune mine.

It already has Manthey suspension arms and brake ducts with KW 3 way Clubsports ... and I've replaced the PCCB discs with ST's (same as those fitted to the new AM Valkyrie) ...

It's a very early car with the splined third gear ...

I'm not sure that I would change the gearing ... plusses and minuses ...
Chris,

You know he is installing a 991.2 GT3 engine in his 981 Clubsport as his winter project? He currently has the GT3 engine apart and is machining heads to improve...

Just get your cheque book out!

Ralph
Watching this on his FB page, this will be mental!

Absolutely staggering. Like listening to a Foxtons agent summarising housing market on BBC lunchtime radio.

the best cars are selling was my point, not run of the mill cars which you can buy day in day out.

even the GT3's seem firm that's if you can find a manual with PCCB's and so do GT4's and Spyders.

No bargains to be had !

I am pretty shocked 991.1 GT's are so expensive still as are 991.2 GTS etc

And the big 5 sports car dealers post 4 or 5 cars sold every week.

Try and put your name down on a GT4 also !

I am not seeing the drop people talk of and every car I have been interested in has sold in the last 2 weeks !

let not even talk about trying to buy a 964, 993 or 997.2 all going up still ! as it seems are 997.1 GT3's

Not sure where the info of increased prices and sales is coming from. Everyone I talk to in the trade says conditions are difficult there is just so much uncertainty that people are reluctant to put a load of cash or sign for big monthly payments for a lump of nice metal. Also a feeling that whilst people have the cash cars are getting too expensive even though some are very desirable. Dealers will play games with listing and then withdrawing stock Same as estate agents do with houses

all I can say is I want to buy a car and the 3 I looked at all sold pretty fast.
all special cars though.

997.2 seem to be going up not down and 964 and 993 are well over priced and up over last year, as for new GT cars they are all still fetching overs and selling !

I don't see any uncertainty, wages are above inflation and unemployment is down. once out £ will only go up as the UK is a lot stronger than scare stories say.

you cannot buy a 600lt, a Ferrari Pista, any new Porsche GT car even though numbers made are triple, they are all sold out !

Porsche made record money and Macca sold the most cars ever !

as I said no bargains to be had.

yes bad news for Jag, land rover etc but that's not the sports car market. Even Lotus sales are up !

Yep despite the naysayers dealers who know their stuff are clammering for the right cars admittedly at the right prices. But check the quality specialists out they are desperate for good stock which is in limited supply.

Witness the 'varicose vein' blue 488GTB Romans car which sold at strongish money ap£180k in a couple of weeks even in that colour!

Usual story plenty of weird or poor spec cars about at both ends of the spectrum but the quality and well specced stock is hard to source and often sells pre advertising.

It is also no coincidence that Pendragon (who as we all know have 3 Porsche franchises ) have just recently announced they are entering the used car market big-time with new sites dedicated to used cars only and they will be even be pulling out of some new car franchises as a result.

Why?

Because of the unprecented demand for and record sales of used cars at all levels.

Typical of how people lose the conversation when they revert to abuse. Bye bye

They are out there if you look, deals to be had at all levels.

Car sales are struggling at all levels.

What’s your thoughts on why the nice white private 991.2 gt3 with all the right extras hasn’t sold for 138k, been up since before Christmas.

997.2 gt3 don’t seem to be selling, same cars have been advertised for ever and some have been reduced.

The white 997.1 gt3 cs which has been up for a 6 month at 90k something suddenly jumped up to 102k then said for it to be sold only for it to turn up for sale this week back in the 90s.

The white low miles good spec private 991.1 gt3 cs which has been advertised privately for months at 112k has now ended up at jzm for 108k so it’s either in SOR as the private sellers has given up trying to sell it himself or they stole it off him sub 100k

I just don’t see what you are seeing.

As for getting your hands a gt4, I think it’s going to be difficult as it’s great value compared to other cars IMO.

Is that like all the others you post about saying they are good spec with all the right extras but are actually poverty spec with all the wrong extras? rolleyes

If you are posting about a particular car then give a link please then everyone knows about the details of the car you are referring to and the spec.

How on earth did you miss this!

https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

Or don’t tell me it’s a crap spec 🤣 looks a good spec car to me.

It was bought to flip, owner has links to the motor trade and happy to move it on by the sounds of it.

Dealers have clearly not offered him enough to get out with a tidy profit otherwise it would of been sold by now.
