There was a new guards red 718 Spyder on the back of the Porsche transport lorry today on the M20, so if anyone on here is expecting delivery of a red one it's nearly time.

Cayman R / 987 Spyder 10 year anniversary gathering.

Guys.

Big anniversary for both the Cayman R and 987 Spyder next year. Some serious momentum has been gathering on this over on the Cayman Owners Club and due to huge interest, the invite had been extended to include all Cayman Rs and 987 Spyders.

Location & date yet to be finalised but looking like a central location with a date in May.
Please if you’re interested in this can I ask you to register your interest over on the Cayman OC (link below).

So far over 30 Cayman Rs are signed up. If you don’t register then your place cannot be guaranteed. I’m not the organiser, just the messenger so please pass all comments onto the thread below.

Thanks biggrin

I snuck out at lunch for a whizz round in my 981 spyder. Top down. Good times.
Still hits the spot 4 1/2 years on.

Just looking for a bit of confirmation. My Spyder is going for a minor service tomorrow. I have been quoted 1000 by both of my two local OPC's (Trier and Manthey), for what is effectively an oil change and 30min inspection. Is this the going rate for such a service as it seems somewhat more than I would have guessed for such a simply service?

took mine out of the Porsche loop, was £220 service, £75 brakes fluid and £40 to replace the caliper nipples Porsche never undid anyway so they seezed in on the inners which I asked them to bleed propley.

plus point is brakes are back to mega amazingness :-)

Screw these daft prices for a oil change and check over.

Good for you. I won’t be taking mine to OPC again. I’m never selling it so doesn’t matter. I managed to get to 10,000 miles this week. Not bad going for 10 years!

My OPC quoted £1100 for first minor service on 991.2 GT3 I got it down to £850 including brake fluid change including decent loaner too.

I have loved mine but I am just not using it much so it’s in the classifieds.

https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/10864902?

If it sells it sells... if not when my little Audi goes back in March I might be driving it as my everyday car... well if I am going to the office at that point in time.
