Porsche won’t extend the warranty if tyres are more than 6 years old.... so it’s definitely not had an extended warranty...
Definitely not...With the exception of this one perhaps, issued 1641miles ago on the 28/09/2017 expired on the 28/09/2019. But apart from that definitely not. I best have a word with Porsche and let them know they are doing it all wrong As of 5 minutes ago, as fitted to the car; these tyres were manufactured May 2010.

Wish he'd put fresh rubber on it at least!
That's not collectible... that's dangerous...
Unless I'm missing something, I fail to see where the danger is with a car parked up in a garage In all seriousness though, it is great to see you are all focused on the driving and tyres are the most critical aspect of that, I'm with you That's not collectible... that's dangerous...
Sorry guys, I don't mean to be argumentative. Replacing the tyres would remove an element of the provenance which gives some indication as to how the car has been driven. Also the car has just been serviced and I store my cars over the winter (Oct-Mar) so replacing with new now just isn't sensible (flat spots). I've not had much chance to drive my cars over the last few years:
-CLR996 less than 1000miles in last 3 years
-Spyder 663miles since I bought it July 2019
-Alfa less than 200miles since Sep 2019
-Lotus 500miles since I bought it two years ago
I've now got to focus on other things so the tyres fitted to a parked car isn't a priority just now. If a buyer wants to discuss tyres I will welcome that discussion over a nice glass of wine here together
I wonder if the tyres on this car are being discussed in similar terms on Ferrari Chat or indeed on the PH Ferrari forum ... ?

I somehow doubt it, purely because a 5 year old Speciale Aperta with 750 miles on the odometer is only heading in one direction, that being a nice warm (probably dehumidified) dry garage.
It may get driven to it's annual service/MOT (but more likely it'll be collected and delivered in a closed transporter) a suppose there's a chance it might be driven to an annual show for a concours competition.
Will it be bought and thrashed to death in a manner similar to this ? :

No chance.
Will the prospective owner be asking the Hairpin Company to fit a new set of tyres prior to taking delivery ?
I very much doubt it.
The Spyder being discussed here is a completely original car, and it's highly unlikely another one in this spec, condition and with this mileage, can and will be found. It's rarity is reflected in the asking price. You're either in the market or you're not. End of. The vendor is well aware that the car won't be every prospective Spyder purchasers cup of tea.
No one is suggesting the market for such a car is large, 'cause it won't be, but it only takes one buyer who can appreciate the car for what it is, and the car will be sold. Such a buyer won't be looking at the date stamp on the tyres, they'll be looking at the bigger picture.
If the car were a 30k miles "driver", rather than a 15K miles "show piece/garage queen", then yes. the tyres would best be swapped for something newer, but it's patently not.

Means the Porsche centre missed the tyres age in the check. They are not allowed to issue a warranty extension if the tyres are over 6 years old.Sorry guys, I don't mean to be argumentative. Or alternatively, some dealers are more pragmatic than others and appreciate the age of the tyres is unlikely to cause, or indeed impact on, any warranty claim, especially on a pristine, largely unused example such as this ... Gassing Station | Boxster/Cayman | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
