I like the look of this one:
https://www.ashgood.co.uk/vehicle-details/Used-Por...

But I see its been around a while, anyone know of a reason why its not selling, has it got history or something key in spec missing?
Registration is MT11 ZKO so just wondered if anyone knows it or is 50k price tag the reason for not selling as admittedly I've not followed pricing on these cars?

Your link doesn't work. Hopefully this one does.

That is the car yes, they want 50k, having not really followed Spyder values, is this price about right or they having a laugh? Anyone know the particular car?

£50k buys you a lot of 981 / 718 Boxster.

Yes the 987 is a special car, compared to a normal 987 boxster, but is it “better” than a 981 GTS ?

Yep the newer cars are faster but it does not necessarily make them better.

Size on the road and steering feel are really important to me and I think that is an area that the 987 R and Spyder excel in and hence why they are on my radar. They won't budge in money and I do agree 50k is a lot for a ten year old, albeit a rather special one, looking on Collecting cars similar cars were selling for around 40k then that had similar options and manual, so seems the price has shot up so maybe dropping 50k now could be a bad move or a brilliant move, who knows.....

IMHO it’s more a £45k car max! that’s why it hasn’t sold! The owner was asking for offers in excess of £50k private as that’s what he “said “ he was offered by trade? Went up for £55k at said dealer for short while then reduced to £50k. Come winter be picking up for £42k

Ive been tracking Spyder prices for a while, because I'd like one, I agree the size and feel on the road is what makes these IMO better than the 981/718 versions. The WBAC for that car is £35K, now you'll get people who say that WBAC dont price these kinds of cars properly blah blah blah, but if they treated them like normal Boxsters then the offer would be 5-12K so I dont buy that. - so I'd agree its a low 40's car today and will be a 30's car when normality returns.

The last red one for sale was advertised on and off through 2018/19 between 47-44K - AFAK it didnt sell.

Thanks so in short:
50k top money and over priced
45k fair price
40k bargain price

Alll regarding the red one linked too, I guess I will think it over for a few days and if hear nothing back just get in touch and say after some thought I think its over priced and see if they want to barter.

I have also kept an eye on prices since I sold my late build(2012my) perfect spec car in 2015 to buy a Gt4, wish I never sold it! Anyway prices for all cars are little crazy at the moment and although the 987spyder is a great car it’s no exception, not so long ago a car like that would have been in the late 30s so to pay £50k is madness, as for WBAC they price cars like the 718gt4 at list/overs so there is no reason to doubt their value as a trade price, so £35k puts it about £42k retail which sounds about right to me.

WBAC valuations are off on 987 Spyder and the R when I enter a few cars details.

£31k on a 23k miles R, would retail easily mid 40’s and above..

£30k on a 25k miles Spyder again retailing mid 40’s..

On 997’s, 981’s etc, more standard stuff they’re offering good money, but slightly reduced from a few weeks ago..

The red car, with 15k miles, manual, good colour with most of the desired options (bar Nav but easily fixed) is probably a £48k car I’d say.

Having just got one….for that money I’d be in it, they’re brilliant to chuck about and huge fun..

Factor in the colour though, that commands a premium - you won't see another like that in a long time.

Deffo barter but you'd be mad to let that go for the sake of a few thou. its worth it just to clear you head of needing to always be searching. I would have happily paid £60K for my R just to get back to thinking about something else!

£35K from WBAC for my R at 30,000 miles. Maybe location and amount of owners are contributing factors?

Reds not everyone’s cup of tea… that’s why there weren’t many ordered in red.

yep, but for those jonesing for a red one then they are thin on the ground so kind of does command a premium. Personally I think it looks sensational, then again, they all do!

I'm not sure if you've found the previous owner yet but if you join the "Porsche Boxster Spyder (UK)" Facebook group there's a thread about the Ashgoods car and a lad has commented that he knows the previous owner.

Ashgoods stock levels are incredibly low ATM. They would rarely let a car like this be listed for so long. They'd play with the price to hussle a sale....But that was back when they'd have had another car or two in the pipeline to list once they'd shifted it..
