How to park in public car parks

I saw one of these, but don't know where you buy them?...
Believe it or not, these are actually 'a thing' https://www.amazon.co.uk/Xcellent-Global-Protectio...
I was going to buy some, but now just resort to pipe insulation and gaffer tape

Always at the very back of the car park for me, and it’s even better if there’s a hatched area that I can use to give myself more room. I usually only take up one space unless I’m in a huge, public car park that’s mostly empty anyway. Then I’ll take up two
I think you should still park in one space otherwise you'll give Porsche drivers a bad rep. If I saw a swanky car parked over 2-3 spaces I'd think the person is a bit of a tit! My local big tesco as a car park so vast the spaces out in the distance near the trees are rarely used. I park there. Car is also hidden by the click and collect shed. Only thing is I’ve noticed dog walkers park their cars and walk their dogs along it for a whizz (who does that??). I really hope I’m not parking in the middle of a dogging site.
Downside is car is hidden but I have to weight risk of it being broken into vs dings. I reckon dings more likely.
I never ever take up more than one spot, unles s straddling into an area that isn’t a parking bay. I think that’s drawing attention and will get people annoyed. Matter of time before someone keys it, or “accidentally” bumps their shopping bag down the side. You don’t want to end up on YPLAC website . If I can’t park in distance I sack it off and head to Sainsbury’s

Yes, I usually do, the only times I ever take up two spaces is when it’s quiet and I’m running over to the ATM or running into the store for a single item that’ll take approximately a minute. If I know I’ll be gone longer, I only take one space. The reason I parked over two in the picture is because cars fly around that corner super fast and I was worried that someone would swipe my front bumper if I drove forward to the front of the space! Surprisingly, when I had my Audi TT, I used to double-park everywhere (apart from paid car parks - that’s a different league of selfish!) because I was so paranoid about it getting damaged. But ever since I got my Porsche, I rarely double-park because as you said, I don’t want to come across as a tt and I’m also aware that it can invite unwanted attention in the form of vandalism. Easier to just park at the back of the car park and hope that no one chooses to park next to me!
I'll put up with being called a tit/wker/arrogant Porsche owner/whatever as I'll continue to use two spaces in quiet car parks (the only ones I ever use).
I've seen how many people don't give two hoots about banging their doors into the car next to it. Mrs Twinfan's GT86 got a dent that way soon after being bought new and it was right on a crease line in the front wing. She had to live with it the whole time she had the car as the only way to fix it was with a new wing
My car is a keeper, and it's only original once, so I'll do whatever it takes to keep it undamaged. People will think I'm a flash git driving a Porsche anyway so it's no great loss

If I saw you parked over two spaces and I was in my other half’s Ibiza I’d park as close to you as possible just to annoy you. Park in the bay , don’t be a dick. The amount of times I’ve gone to park somewhere and can’t fit in but some bellend has taken two spaces is ridiculous. Read my post properly - I don't park on busy car parks in my car. I would not deprive anyone of a space.Twinfan said:

Do you also find that when you return to your car there is always another car parked next to it. Even if the car park is empty.
I swear this happens all the time! Honestly, why do people insist on parking next to a flashy sports car of all cars when there’s other spaces all over the place? Like, why even risk going anywhere near a car that would be expensive to repair if you just so happened to ding its paintwork with your door?I have two theories.
(1) People who take pride in their car will obviously park next to other expensive/well-looked-after cars as they know their owner will definitely be careful opening their own doors. Even I do this sometimes in busy car parks! I’ll search around for clean, obviously cared for and/or expensive motors to park next to.
(2) People can’t bay park within the lines without having another car next to them to use for reference to guide them in straight.

what a great looking car - excellent to see a Cayman on sensible wheels/tyres, I think that looks great and the ride/steering feel will benefit.
sapphire blue too, my new Porsche will be built in that colour next week, touch wood no delays.
It’s just personal preference, but for me, deeper tyres create a more muscular appearance reminiscent of the classic coupé shape, particularly around the haunches. Makes me slightly weak at the knees sapphire blue too, my new Porsche will be built in that colour next week, touch wood no delays.
It was the same with my Z:
