Who has a car on order, and did you manage to get any sort of discount?
I quite like the look of the sport-tex/full leather interior, anyone seen this in the flesh on a Boxster?
Joking aside.I quite like the look of the sport-tex/full leather interior, anyone seen this in the flesh on a Boxster?
Ordered yesterday. £2k 'dealer finance contribution' and some Porsche goodies as a discount.
Was at PEC a few weeks ago. They had a Cayman there with the sport-tex interior. Looked great to me.
I'm afraid the pics don't show the interior very well...

Is it the done thing on here to ask what dealer you secured the £2000 contribution from? Please PM if you are happy to share and don't wish to say in public.I see that Coast to Coast cars are showing a £1400 discount on a Cayman 2.0 PDK, i don't know what dealer they use though.

Not negotiated discount yet but when speccing and finalising build will discuss.
Not gone sport-tex, can't justify the expense. Gone black leather with sports seats plus.

I must be getting old.
After 25yrs of driving manuals I've ordered my first ever auto, well PDK.
Hmm. After 25 years of driving manuals too I went with my first auto in my current M235i. Comes with the ZF 8-speed auto which has great reviews and everyone was raving about. I truly regret it. I've specced a manual in the 718 S. Can't wait to be shot of the auto and get a proper manual back. After 25yrs of driving manuals I've ordered my first ever auto, well PDK.
On a slight tangent, what is the Sport Tex material that is now optional?
I know alcantara came along a few years ago and is now widely thought of as a good thing, but what is this?
From the pictures it looks like a downgrade from the standard option (like the cloth from the seats of a VW Golf), but not seen it in real life and can't find details of its material properties. Must have something about it to command the same price as extended leather...
