Well now the forum's been split I thought I'd just say that I've had my 2.7 987 for a little over 4 years which is 2 years longer that I have ever owned another car and I've owned around 30 quality motors in my time. It's a second car and the trouble is whenever I've thought about selling it and getting something else I always seem to come back to the Boxster.
I've driven the 981 and several 911s, F Types, Astons, Italian stuff and yes they're faster, prettier, louder, more exotic and of course more expensive but none seem to give you the smile in the same way the Boxster does. For the money, I've concluded that there just isn't anything else that does what it does and give someone like me with limited driving skills and ambition so much pleasure in everyday driving conditions.
I suspect that I'll trade up to a 981 at some point but not until something major goes wrong with my current car and after 4 reasonably trouble free years that my be some time off.
