Having previously owned a C2 996 I was looking for either a 964, 928 S4 or 944 turbo, bit of a difference in price range I know but it had to be something that I could keep for a while and appreciate.

I really like it, it feels like I've had it for years after just a week.

Maybe a few contributions from me in this forum in the future.

For now, a few bits to sort and a whiz over to a friendly mechanic for a full run down.

I just wanted to share my joy smile

There you go. It has linen leather which is pretty good with just the piping gone on the drivers bolster.

Cheers for your comments.

Spent Saturday on a full exterior clean and polish and engine bay, inside is next weekend. Had to get some pictures over to the insurance company for the agreed value.

Cheap to insure as well, £150 with Admiral

Look a very tidy car. Where did you find it?

Congratulations and welcome to the fold! Red is the best colour for them but high maintenance! (I already own another red classic so bought a metalic '44t...)

Interesting that you've come from 996 c2 ownership; Really I would have loved one of those but couldn't stretch myself at the time but I don't feel short changed one bit by owning my T.

Enjoy sir thumbup

Lovely. I bought an identical car new back in the day. One of the best Porsche's I've ever owned, great car...

I had one too. At the time it was a choice between this and an E30 M3. Drove each car and my own view was that the 944 turbo knocked the spots of an M3. Just felt so much quicker and danced through corners. I'm amazed at the value disparity between the two cars now.

I've not seen a Nile Green one before, but they look great in the pics; very similar to VW Oak Green which can only be a good thing...

A bit OT, but I've been viewing an e36 M3 tonight for a mate which was on the short list when buying my T although I didn't actually drive one. It was nice, but not a patch on the 951 so I'm now totally satisfied I bought the right car.

I'm sure everyone else will wake up soon and realise just how good and undervalued 951's are smile

TBH the M3 engine and gearbox felt nicer to me, put on an induction kit and they sound better too. I found a minter with just 40k but it was never going to have the grunt of a modified turbo.

Hi Olly, good thanks mate and I'm still tinkering away! I currently have the head off for a freshen up and a bit of mild porting and as you'd expect the original HG was looking past its best but the bores are excellent, which was a relief. It's also being treated to a new waterpump and a few hoses here and there to (hopefully) plug the last of the vacuum leaks. I've already done the usual DP wastegate and Russ Berry chips so it was errrrm 'healthy' even before the current tweaking. Plus I've done lots of other bits and bobs on the suspension and brakes...

Me and Mrs are off to the Spa GP, the ring and Stutgart in it later this summer so looking forward to it smile

Are you still getting on well with the Cooper S?

Well done mate. Whilst there is a lot of noise about classics getting too expensive these continue to be ignored and are great value (yes I have one too so am biased, 88SE). Cheers
