I wish I'd read this before trying to start a new thread last night... I'm looking to order one of these at the moment and heard that the new engine is a 4.0 diesel!... Has anyone ordered one recently, what sort of discounts are people achieving, if you can share? that is...
4.2v8. Ordred mine last August for April delivery. Just had a call from my OPC saying delivery first week in May. Had to confirm my spec. Discount? You are joking.Paul
I would double check the engine as the 4.2 is Euro 5 and can't be registered after the first of Sept 2015... I know manufacturers got some dispensation but I think that is over now... So the delay is likely to be due to engine change...

This is the engine I understand from my OPC they are fitting...? As I say, maybe worth confirming... They would only say that the bhp would be the same, they wouldn't say what it could be...

I understand they are just going to AdBlue the 4.2l V8 to bring it inline with EU6. I believe the engine you refer to is going in the next model.
As far as I can ascertain, that is correct. The delay is caused by a shortage of the adblue parts. Anyway, if it comes out with the new 4l v8 I'll be happy.Paul
My v8 diesel s was due late dec, last update was mid march. I too am now annoyed as ive just found out about the new model coming out in 2017. As far as im aware I cant cancel the order....does anyone else know if this is correct or not? Dealer just says that its part of the contract that there may well be delays. I can accept a delay or 3 to 4 weeks but 3 to 4 Months is now taking the ****
Anyone have any news on why these cars are delayed or how to get out of a contract?

I seem to remember a 'time not of the essence clause' effectively saying they could deliver whenever the hell they liked. A legal challenge would probably come down to what is reasonable and consideration would probably be given to common industry practice.
Like you, I'm annoyed that I'm spending what is to me a small fortune on a car that is only going to be current for about a year. I never had the conversation about waiting for the new model because my Audi is starting to drop to bits and I really want rid! Also thought the next S Diesel model could end up being a 3l tri-turbo like the BMW X5M, since turbos seem to be in fashion at Porsche at the moment.

To make it worse ive had a phone call to say its delayed another month!! Now due Mid April at the earliest. So im guess im considering my options now either 1) Cancel and loose a 10k dep 2) Go the legal route and hope to get some of the 10k back (dont really want to do that tbh) 3) Hope to get some sort of compensation although I doubt they will!
Its just a crap situ.
No I didnt do the ceramic brakes....its just got lots of carbon and different coloured leather inside plus extra leather in places etc.
What dates have they given you now?

mmm I had a phone call at the end of the week before saying it would be 16th March, then on Friday that changed to mid April. When was your original delivery date?
I have a guy from Head Office calling me tomorrow and im going to run some things past him. They have already agreed to giving compensation but to be honest I thats not what I want. As you said its a lot of money to me and to have a car which is only current for 1 year before it takes a hit on depreciation (even worse that it was going to) just isnt very palatable to me.
If they had delivered it on 1st Jan as they said they would then that wouldnt have been so bad.
Also when I ordered the car I asked if I could pay to have a non standard colour which I could but they said it would delay the car by 4/5 months.....I could have done that now!

How much have they offered you if you don't mind me asking you and where did you order yours from? When did you place your order?
Not too bothered about depreciation as I'll be keeping it 4+ years, just a shame it'll soon be the 'old model'. Your options list isn't going to help with depreciation, I thought I'd gone silly!

They havnt made the offer as yet but have said that they are putting something together for me. It was Head Office that have said that. Apparently they have had a lot of complaints about the Delays. Not too bothered about depreciation as I'll be keeping it 4+ years, just a shame it'll soon be the 'old model'. I wouldnt mind so much if it was just a face lift but its a whole new model, engines, power, colours, options, pcm etc
I know what you mean about the options, im aware that when it come sto part ex they say they arent worth much untill that is they come to advertise it and then they start saying "every optional extra" and "yes its more than the one down the road but look at the options on it!" lol
I placed the order End Oct for a late Dec Delivery and 1st Jan reg....how about you?
