I’ve noticed this advert on Autotrader for a Macan with spec I am looking for. I’ve been calling the number, left messages and sent emails for over a week with no response. The advert has been up for 2-3 weeks and is still live.
Is this common on Autotrader for private sellers? I’ve never purchased from anyone other than a authorised dealer.

So I’ve found a great Macan, but unfortunate it’s not from an OPC.
How can I ensure all the options listed on the advert are actually on the car? Is there an online database that I can check.
It still has 6 months of the original 3 year warranty which is a good thing I’m hoping.
I’m nervous about buying from a non OPC

You could call the supplying dealer?
However its possible to tell just from visual inspection what its got.

Sure, thanks.
I’ve called the dealer who have simply said that it’s got everything on the advert. I’m a little weary as one of the reviews for this dealer says the car didn’t have the spec stated. Also, the dealer is 160 miles away so keen to check the paperwork remotely before I make the journey.

Which one where you calling? I've seen one the wife really likes private but no answer, left message. Tried calling today and rejected the call. I mean what's the fking point of putting it up if you don't want to take calls.

This one only came up yesterday. All private people are not selling just advertising ffs.

I imagine mid to late teens. My Diesel S did early to mid 20s and my 2.0 petrol did late teens early 20s. This was pure urban stop/start type of traffic.

Absolute best mpg I've had in my S is 32 on a motorway run.
The worst is 12 crawling through 4 miles of traffic in 30 minutes on the way to work each day.
Pottering through town, odd traffic light race, 16-18 mpg

My Macan S does 15mpg in town (very solid stop start) and I can see would push 30mpg on a very controlled and long term motorway jaunt. Average for me is 22mpg over the 800odd Miles I’ve owned it. Reckon it might climb to 23mpg over the longerterm as more motorway work comes into play but very happy considering the power, sound and smile factor! smile

Mine (440bhp) does about 24 on a run that includes motorways (especially if the dog is in the back!) and can be anything between 19 and 27 in town if you are very gentle with it and lift off to coast to a stop and with STOP/START engaged.

Did the Porsche experience day in one yesterday - even more impressed with it shaking of 911's on that twisty track LOL

Had my geo done by THE specialist. Best £300 ever spent... It went in and he said 'its all fine and in spec but give me 4 hours'... He knocked the front subframe over a few mil and did all his jiggery pokery and its now all absolutely balanced L/R and symmetrical with very low tolerances. Its got very slightly sportier rather than default school run settings and drives and feels absolutely brilliant now. The front toe in comes down in the lower ride height so he ensured it worked in all settings. Feels so planted now smile I am loving it as a DD!

Yours is a Turbo PP ? Interested to learn more as I DD mine and honestly not sure sure I’d want anything else Porsche makes as a DD. Be interested in who worked their magic on yours ?

It was the Porsche alignment specialist Centre Gravity. Reason being was that it went through to the canvas on one front tyre 2 months after my OPC purchase (I have a right moan elsewhere here...). That cost me an unexpected £600 for two new fronts (and now all they do is keep telling me they aren't approved tyres and that I should tell my insurance as I put the sublime PS4-S on as I need no 4x4 compromise tyre on this missilerolleyes). So Chris at CG checked it all out and it WAS diagnosed a 100% legacy issue. No bent bits! In fact seems OPC do an alignment on all used Macans (they should tell us this as we all think the 'approved' is often a bit of a vac and chammy wipe down...). Credit to them they were very open with mortified me thinking I'd bought a lemon and gave me before and after data; it was SO out before! They should have changed the b tyres mind, and its a lesson to us all in buying 'approved' - get on the deck with a torch like its an old smoky Granada...

All's well that ends well and I'm still quite gobsmacked that an in-tolerance car can be improved SO much. Just drop the £300 and then know the car is bang on perfect; have such faith in it now. I could go on biggrin

Wife bought a new macan s in may this year with 20” rs spyder alloys, extra leather, ceramic coating, led headlights and darkened rear windows in dark grey. It handles well for a 4x4! I have got it down to 8mpg!? by putting it in manual and sport but can get around 21mpg around town and 26mpg on longer runs. It is loud on startup even without the sports exhaust but makes a lovely howl above 3k rpm! DO NOT BUY THE DIESEL. Its not a porsche! Its a rattly audi q5, and will depreciate heavier than the petrol as porsche have stopped making all diesel models! Plus the dpfs are a weakpoint!

Well the wife picked up her Macan from Porsche Centre Kendal on Monday. Low miles, great spec and 2 year warranty. Happy days, and yes PASM does make a huge difference, glad she got one with PASM.

Has anyone put an after market towbar on a Macan? Im thinking of getting a Radical and the Macan is a great car to tow the light Radical with. Looking for detachable but without cutting the rear diffuser. Porsche want £1800 theirs.

Cheers

If you want to keep the warranty you will need to buy their tow bar.

Well that would be warranty issues relating to any issues around the towbar only. Found some good info on Macan Forum of plenty of people doing it. Looks like I'll be sorted smile

I presume you have never been on the wrong side of an OPC warranty claim? Trust me, having owned Porsches for the best part of 20 years they can get very anal about aftermarket items fitted to the vehicle. You might be lucky and a) not need to claim or b) the dealership will turn a blind eye. However IME there is nothing worse than having your car sat at a dealer for 2 months whilst you argue it out.

Nope never had an issue even with aftermarket parts fitted and warranty claims. I'll run it past my local OPC who are really good with things like this.
