macan diesel vs petrol issues and other question
Discussion
hi,
im starting to look at macans to replace an e class estate we dont really need the space there are only 2 of us.
budget wise i didnt want to spend any more than 25k and that gives us a fair few options of both diesel and petrol S models
heat say petrol head says diesel even though we dont do huge mileage these days say 10k a year
but after been stung with a not overly cheap adblue system failure on the merc i really dont want those issues on top of the transfer case issue
question 1
how common are adblue/dpf issues on the macan
question 2
the 7 year warranty on the transfer box, is that from build only or does it get a new 7 year one after every time its replaced?
question 3
what economy are you getting in your 3.0 petrol or diesels going from 47 ish in the merc to 22 in a petrol may be a bit much![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
smallest journey is 12 miles that it will typically do and thats 4 times a week usually and we dont live in a city
quick calc
10k 47mpg diesel current
£1497
37mpg diesel
£1901
27mpg petrol
£2606
22mpg petrol
£3199
spec im after is
18 way seats
PCM
air suspension
not red leather or not extended or full leather if red
bose as a minimum
would like cooled seats but that seems very rare
not bothered about chrono pack im not going to be needing launch control
anything else i should be looking out for?
and any advice would be great

Went to see a really nice spec diesel today
It was not good at all front tyres very close to needing replaced, badly touched up big scratches on door very noisy pano roof and the tailgate sounded like it was eating rocks![frown](/inc/images/frown.gif)
It really wasn't 25k's worth at all but as always looked good in photos
Oh and a 3 hour round trip
