Interesting. The rear doesn't quite work for me but I like the change to the centre console.
Not for me. A 997 miles prettier especially a GTS or SC.

The pictures don't do the green one justice - have seen it in the flesh and it's stunning, looks quite unique and they've done a heck of a lot more than just stick a duck tail on the back!

What where does the 'resto' come into play? 'Mod' I get, but calling it a Restomod?

My rsr backdate is listed on elferspot now. Id love to keep it but family property issues means freeing up funds are necessary. Engine is built by ctr developments / Richard chamberlain. Monster. Hope It goes to a good home. https://www.elferspot.com/en/car/porsche-911-modif...

Beyond the Tuthill and Singers of this world, I regard your particular car as the best resto-mod out there. Good luck with the sale!

Interesting to know what these costs, I was tempted to buy this but could never live with the interior as it is.

Those rear lights and reflector on that are utterly, stupendously horrendous!

I think the brand with these Restomods is more about the type of tweaks you are looking for there must be well over 10 of these now, I like the idea that some of the hard work has been thought through and the vehicle will be better than you might do alone. BUT I am pretty sceptical at some of the silly prices and just how much R&D

If I have the cash I'd start with the most suitable car and personally modify to my spec, at least it would be a one off. Having said that I like a lot of them

I have often contemplated how to do a „center console delete“ on a 997 scratchchin
If you take out the leather sides and the nav screen, the 997 actually has a very classic, very horizontal look to it.

This is not 100% there, but I like the approach!
As for the rest….. well no. Much better „retro“ 997 out there. And the standard car is very retro in it‘s own right to begin with.

Centre console deletes best left to the 996 boys ...

How god intended watercooled 911 dashes to look :

smile

As opposed to how the product planners thought they should look ....

Rumour has it the product planners wanted more buttons and switches, something along the lines of this :

but the beancounters said they didn't have the budget smile

However they all agreed that some decluttering of the dash should at least be an option :

beer

But you have seen the approach from the restomodder, right?

When you take out the nav screen and the two leather slats either side, you'd have a a perfectly horizontal dash, without the Y2K/rounded/organic design language of the 996 wink

It isn't 100% as the HVAC for instance still has the trapezoid form, but needs to be rectangular to work in this layout.
Also, give me a simple speaker setup with bluetooth. Preferably a simple on/off volume button a good place to store, charge the phone and nothing more. No need for a screen, nav, radio, cd or anything else when carry my iPhone anyhow.

I think that 997 centre column delete looks way better than the 996 version. It's the first modern mod I have ever seen that I wish Porsche themselves had done.

Oh yes, I’ve seen it alright !!
The difference is the 996 centre console delete costs £400-500 and can be done at home on a Sunday morning and the result looks factory (because it was a factory 996 GT3 part)
What Julian and you are discussing is neither factory (nor looks it) or indeed reversible, AND doing what you’ve pictured would cost a lot more than the £500 the 996 factory parts cost ...

Edit to add : Let us not forget, Julian thinks a wooden rimmed steering wheel and vented Perspex rear quarterlights are befitting of a 987 Cayman R, so one has to question his views on all things aesthetic when it comes to modifying anything from Stuttgart.
Evening Julian smile
