Have driven plenty. Turbo lag is tiresome and unless they are setup right (which most aren't) it'll handle terribly too compared to driving a GT car. There is a reason Porsche make GT cars!
Older turbos have lag - market doesn't seem to care

You don't know how this car has been set up, even if wrong relatively cheap to fix

Maybe you got some sand in your vagina today, but seems like you should have just written "I don't like 964 turbos" and be done with it smile

It's all a matter of opinions and what each individual wants from a car.
I personally find the lag entertaining and for me it handles just fine.
I've had mine(only a 3.3) for 12 years and still love it and can't see myself ever selling it.
Good for you glad you enjoying it. I had s 930 turbo some years back and never really liked the way it drove but I guess that can be sorted now . Actually there is a clip on YouTube of one having a great battle with a 996 gt3. On the straigjts it leaves the gt3 for dead. The corners are a different matter however

Good vid.
I can't believe that turbo is standard.
Straight line speed was way quicker than the GT3.

The 3.6 turbo has next to no lag when compared to a 930!

I like to think of the lag as part of the unusual quirkiness of these cars.
A bit like a wild cam in old escort.
Not a lot happens... then it goes a bit mad.
Very unrefined and a bit agricultural but a bloody good laugh.

Having just done 3k miles in mine it drives nothing like the above.
Quick enough down the low revs and then a nice linear build up of speed. Now my Cossie explodes into life!!
Unrefined and agricultural. Definitely not my experience of the car. I got out of it thinking wow that was easy and effortless.

Maybe that's the difference between a 3.6 and a 3.3?

If I'm not mistaken you have the yellow car? Very cool and I bet you get a ton of admiring looks and compliments when you drive it. Good for you .

Yes he does own the yellow 3.6 turbo. People do look at him when he drives itdriving They have plenty of time to look as I don't think he has ever got past second gear!!laugh

Many years ago I had a mk1 Escort. F reg I think.
Originally a 1.1, I popped in a 1600gt engine from a Capri along with twin 40 webers and a half decent exhaust. Going from 30odd bhp to near 100 was unreal at the time.
