There is something about the front wing/headlight/indcator/bumper area that looks off to me - are they 993 based?

You can tell by the wipers too.

That's not always a given. Singer, for example, put 993 wipers on all their cars, which are all 964-based.

Well you can in theory, but the boys at Tuthill rather muddied those waters with the 911K, which isn’t based on a 993 chassis, but uses a 993 esque scuttle (but isn’t) as can be seen by the wiper spacing …

Whereas this Tuthill SCRS is based on a 993, but has been backdated to look like a longhood, but retains the 993 scuttle and wiper spacing.

I’m not really helping am I ? getmecoat

This one is coming back for another go on CC

https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/1988-porsche-9...

it is lovely in my opinion

I think so too. Where has it failed to sell previously in terms of price? The market is certainly cooling and pool of buyers is limited.

What makes this car a good 'un?
Thanks for the kind words , its my car.

I cant speak for the market obviously, PCARMARKET did an auction on it and bidding stopped at 125k dollars which was low.
It did alot Better on Collecting cars the last time, I believe bidding stopped at 177k Euros.
It was close to reserve and the reserve will be the same now.

Far be it from me to tell you if this is a good`un being the seller - All I can say is that it has been a labour of Love from day 1 - not a dime has been saved anywhere during the build - I built the car excactly how I wanted it without a budget limitation and if it sells for around reserve I will be taking a significant loss.

To build this car today with a rust free 930 donor - all in Ive been told is around 400k Euro. But then you can build it to your own preferences in terms of colors blah blah blah,
I went with black since thats the original color of this car and Im a bit weird like that.

I would like to add that I agree with the poster above that an auction is not really the right platform to sell it, but I gave it a go anyway and will do so again on CC now. Lets see how it goes and again, thank you for the kind words Im glad you like it - I like it alot too.

I am only selling it because I am building a RUF CTR Tribute and well - its not going to be cheap - engine also by Richard Chamberlain smile

@Mintbird, why did you not used hub caps for those wheels, it looks like they've been stolen, not complete.

but, looks like a nice car and the 'new' project looks also promising.

I know things can get very expensive, but £245k ? (And it doesn’t even look very nice, IMO)

That is revolting. This backdating fad must surely be coming to an end soon. It just feels so overdone now.

I think it looks like a few guys stood around in a workshop with a few parts catalogues……maybe mechanically it is superb but the “looks” which is what these cars are bought for are challenging. Wheel/Arch/Body proportions just don’t work and the colours don’t work for me either.

Plenty of companies imitate Singer but they just don’t execute “the look” anywhere near as well. Judging by the amount of miles most of these cars do “the look” is what’s important.
