964 Coffee Break
Discussion
Just back into 964 ownership - in fact I have not even seen the car yet and won't for another 2 weeks yet. It's a 1989 964 c2.
Last had a 964 C4 what seems like many years ago.
Anyway, has anyone put the veloce split rim speedline "lookalike" wheels ona narrow body 964 and if so do you have any pics please?
The car I have bought requires restoration which will take place over a couple of years, back to standard other than some non std wheels and sports exhaust . The other choice is BS lm's which I think would luck stunning but are a bit chunky price wise.
Really looking forward to getting stuck in with this new project.

I thought that the 89 cars were C4 only, it must be a really late 89 to be C2?Last had a 964 C4 what seems like many years ago.

As Wozy68 eludes to, the first 964C2s were model year 90 which means they were available for delivery from late 89.
Even better, its an early car However my car (c2 Coupe) was delivered in May 1990, but is known by Porsche as a "pre-production Model". The only reason I know that is because when the engine was being rebuild and the oil lines replaced, we had to order "special" pre-production" oil lines. The later cars oil lines were different.
No idea how may of these "pre-production" cars were made, but the VIN on mine ends 406470.
Perhaps I have actually bought a covin replica, or a 996 backdate, or....
Or maybe, yes it's an early 964. Frankly, I don't really give a toss if its late 89 or early 90. It's not going to influence my driving experience, as I bought it to enjoy restoring myself and then driving it.
Must admit, I have only had 13 911's over the last 22 years so I could be talking utter crap - it happens on a regular basis.
Meanwhile, back to the wheel discussion. Have ruled out the veloce and now going to just get a set of cups.
