I love how this concept has grown and developed over the years into what we’ve seen now.
Anyone remember this?
Certainly do….Mr Harris’s voice has changed quite a bit ! I doubt Tuthill would exist as it does now without the publicity these videos generatedAnyone remember this?

I always wondered what he did with that car. I'd assumed it would be a keeper but noted he never seemed to mention it ever again.Anyone remember this?

I remember him mentioning in one of the 3 part series that he soon after completion had to sell it to buy boring stuff like food for the family. Although he was inclined to leave the family hungry for some time. ![wink](/inc/images/wink.gif)

£70k for CH's Kermit seems ridiculous cheap, even for 10 years ago. Surely the build costs must have been higher than that, no?
@AndrewD
Love the CGT pedal box and gear knob

Has the pedal offset been able to be improved a little (i.e. assuming a RHD car the 3 pedals moving more to the right)?
In the early cars it's actually not too bad. The clutch pedal in a RHD car is pretty much in line with my left hip which is where you want it. Accelerator is slightly offset but it's pretty good.Cheib said:

Aah, I didn't realise that.
I've not driven an aircooled car but have sat in a couple of IBs and 964s. I always check out the footwells when I see them because some of them look properly skewed! Like the brake pedal being where the clutch should be...
I’ve never had any issues with the offset driving position in aircooled 911s. But, LHD is better - and especially so with 915 gbox.![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
One thing I always check is that the carpet and any mats are not fouling the floor hinged accelerator pedal travel.

Like all things, you soon get used to it if driving a RHD car and changing gear with left hand. Most people living in the UK don’t give it a second thought. And a well built and maintained 915 is not difficult to use. Obviously they will build whatever you want - originally I had a LHD shell but swapped over. Was that converting the shell from LHD to RHD or choosing a different (RHD) shell?Gassing Station | Porsche Classics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
