964 Coffee Break
Discussion
Great thread. Back in a C2 Tip Targa over the last year and just cant believe I ever got rid of my old one, great cars with bags of feel/character. Mine's engine went bang last night (outside the bar I was planning to meet my other half in , so silver linings..)
Not unexpected at 108k miles and smoking on start (remains pulling very strongly) she is off to Tognola's for rebuild and then this car is for keeps.

Arena is a slightly lighter shade of red and Amethyst is more purple.
Zyclam Metallic is a pretty rare colour. Pannhorst has a Zyclam and an Arena red cars so you can see the difference..

So, Sunday was the first proper outing for the old girl this year. Me and some 964 buddies went on a CAT driver training day at Millbrook to do their over grip limit and drifting course. I've now got even greater respect for how hard a 964 can be pushed. It's an absolute hoot to get it sideways. Came away with a big grin on my face.

That sounds like a hoot and a half. Any more details?
Of course. Most of the day was spent on the steering pad which is a big concrete square they use to work on under and over steer. In the morning we used their caterhams to learn and practice the basics of oversteer, reactive correction for the slide and drifting.
After a nice lunch we then used our own 964s to do slip angle mapping and experience the limits of the car in cornering. This essentially used the approach road to build up speed so that we would enter the steering pad at about 70 mph for a medium 180 degree corner designed to experience trail braking in, balancing the throttle to the apex and then the power phase to the exit. This let us experience the limits of the cars in the dry, how to reduce understeer and how to correct for oversteer. The steering pad was then wetted and we did low speed drifting round the centre of the circle and then moved on to higher speed power oversteer. The latter used the approach road again so that we entered the, now wet, steering pad at a good lick. This was the most fun because it involved trail braking to the apex, then lifting off while there was still some steering lock on to hang out the tail and then use power and steering to drift the car out to the exit. And of course spin every once in a while!
All in all a top day out. I'd love to put up pics and video but cameras are banned at Millbrook because of the car testing that goes on - they don't want any secrets leaked to the press, etc. Hence, I've also no photos of the couple of disguised McLarens that were hooning about on the high speed banking.
Presuming it's an honest ad, I wonder how long this C2 will hang about?

The £20 notes bit is right, I didn't want to take any chances with electronic banking, and my bank only had 20s!Dealer bought it turned up with 17k in £20 notes . But I'm not a dealer . My first pork was a white 964 C2, so I couldn't let this pass.

Many congrats . The guy said 'rob' turned up with his business partner so I assumed dealer. You beat me by 10 mins. I called his mobile and spoke to his wife whilst you were on the landline . But I'm not a dealer . My first pork was a white 964 C2, so I couldn't let this pass.
So now you've driven it to London how about we call it £500 and I'll collect the car in the morning
