Fantastic car and with 68000 miles i do not feel bad about still using her at every opportunity. Neil Dickens at Hairpin sold her to Michael Lavers at Silver Arrows. It was a dealer to dealer sale as far as I'm aware and they're both old chums.
Neil bought it from under my nose. Car was originally private sale on here. Chap in Fulham - Jonathon from memory. He had an older 911 too.

Yes Jonathan bought her for the princely sum of £22,000 I think it shows somewhere in the paperwork! That was pretty expensive at the time circa 2006/7 as good cars could be bought for £15000. How times change.

And I nearly bought it for £26,000 - which is all Jonathan was asking.

At the end of the day the torsion bar 911 G50 is one of the most accomplished machines ever constructed. I'm unsure if they're worth these dizzy heights but they are that good!

Try taking a 328GTB on an unrestricted autobahn flat out for 200 miles and see what happens. I'll reckon it'll grenade after 10 miles. Kaboom! I like a Ferrari but they're no match for Dr Porsche's masterpiece.

Period!

I wouldn't say £28k for a 120k mile 1980 911 Targa good value! whistle

Nice colour, but expensive.

Targa & it's a tip!
I loved my tip, but struggled to sell because of it. Plus the targa roof can be a pita, to fix.

Is it that expensive? Paragon have an SC coupe for £40k that's done 200k miles!

Low mileage dictates a big premium, but Tip and Targa will savage the desirability factor - £50k max imo.

The ad mentions a famous owner. Perhaps they think that will bump-up the value too? Wouldn't make a blind bit of difference to me but perhaps they think some people are star-struck enough to pay a premium for it.

So you're using an example of a crazily priced car at another dealer to justify the price on this.

Neither have sold and the sensible buyers will keep their money in their pockets. When the least desirable targas/cabs etc start commanding big money you've got to run for cover.
