Is it that expensive? Paragon have an SC coupe for £40k that's done 200k miles!
So you're using an example of a crazily priced car at another dealer to justify the price on this.

Neither have sold and the sensible buyers will keep their money in their pockets. When the least desirable targas/cabs etc start commanding big money you've got to run for cover.
Agree re values but that SC coupe on their website looks close to concourse. Amazing condition and far better condition than cars with 1/4 of the mileage. They sold a beautiful low miles targa SC for only 10k more.

The silver 194k 911 SC coupe SOLD at Paragon for £40k is a thing of beauty, if not being quite original. Still I wouldn't have bought it.

That's insane. A 1982 Gold (Y) SC with 162k miles that has as many holes as a sieve. That's going to cost a fortune to repair.

I suspect that the full horror of the bodywork will only be revealed once the car is fully stripped!

Based on my experience of bringing old 911s back to "showroom fresh" - I think here metal re spray , engine re build , interior refurb will cost north of £K 60 if done properly - so you are looking at a £K 75 - £K 80 , car when done - that's a hell of a lot , even in today's market . Either way , good luck to the owner and I hope they return it to its former glory as that's what it's all about - enjoy smile

Mechanically the car would appear to be in reasonable condition and the interior looks OK. So basically you're looking at taking car apart and sending shell off for restoration/repaint and then putting it all back together again. Perhaps its been bought by a hands-on enthusiast looking for a project who will do a lot of the disassembly/rebuild work himself. If so that's not a bad price.

I remember shortly after buying my 993tt in 2003 a 993ttS came up at 911 Virgin for £15K more than I'd just paid for my turbo (£55K vs £40K). I couldn't justify the premium then. Certainly couldn't justify it now!

Thread title says it all.

Friend of mine had a few 993s in the early 2000s - a C2, then a C4 varioram, then a Turbo S - all of which he used as his 'daily' with the occasional track day. I was never that enamoured with the Turbo S, actually liked the C4 best.

That was when I bought my 993RS for £38K! I remember you causing traffic jams in the 993TT at Bedford Autodrome!

993 RS £38k then....

And this week $550k at auction. Admittedly it was an official USA imported car.

I wouldn't say £28k for a 120k mile 1980 911 Targa good value! whistle

Nice colour, but expensive.
Foolishly or otherwise, I left a deposit on this SC today!. Not a perfect car, but no rust, a nice drive, plus £'000's spent by the previous owner have won me over...

Look at it this way. For the same money you could have a rebodied 1968 Cooper S with no history. I'd have a 911 over one any day, and they built a whole load more Coopers. smile

It looks like a well sorted car with good leakdown values and even Pasha interior & a great colour too, what is there not to like - RPM are good guys to buy from and their prices seem more reasonable that others. Congrats

What would the cost be if it was bought by owners of a body shop/ restoration outfit.

Wonder if it's half that and that (while prices at silly) buying projects like this, working at cost and selling on as fully restored for a premium

600 hours at £30 PH or so still comes to £18K, I don't see that sort of deal working out very well personally.
