Hi All,

My father in law has purchased a nice looking red 911 SC with 120k miles on the clock. It's a manual coupe with cream leather.

All is original and the car comes with a lot of receipts, however the service book has been lost.

The previous owner has owned the car for 3 years and has the advert from Pistonheads noting that the car benefited from a recent engine and gearbox rebuild. But, no receipts other than the garages word.

I've told my FIL to have the car inspected at JMG this week and we can try and piece the service history together over the weekend.

Questions:
Where can I purchase a service book from for a 1980's 911 SC?
Do you think garages for which I have receipts will be happy to re-stamp the service book?
Would Porsche Reading/HQ be able to pull up a report for which dealers serviced the car in the early years?

There are receipts back until 1986 along with 3 lots of AA inspections and lots of MOT's so think we can put something together.

Thanks in advance

Thanks, will have a go

Porscheshop.co.uk can order me a service book for £35 + vat with an 8 week lead time.

Porsche UK can only find me a late 1970's 911 service book for £38.

I think the car in question is 1982 but waiting on the exact details tonight.

Onto the service history...
First registered in Dudley in 1983.
then I have a gap until 1986 and then some more gaps. Lots of invoices from the 90's to date.
I've sent details to 6 OPC's that are the closest to the first registration location, however they have all responded (which is nice) but their systems don't show any cars pre-1984?
Hmmm

Also Googled the number plate and found that it was auctioned at Coys:
