Non running 993, noisy fuel pump

Advice from the knowledgable please, my 993 had to be recovered home a few days ago, was overtaking a line of traffic on a 3 lane road, thought I’d hit the Rev limiter and realised the engine had stopped, it now won’t restart but after cranking and with the ignition on I’m getting this noise from around the fuel tank, I’m assuming knackered fuel pump?

My fuel pump made the same noise when my filter was blocked (new tank). It was working overtime to try and pump fuel. In the end it gave up.

This. Start simple. How old is your DME relay? Which version is it?

Bought a new one (money no object ), just pulled the fuel pump fuse and the noise stops, so def the pump, just a bit unsure if something else is causing it to run badly.
