Is there any literature that outlines what Ferrari used warranty covers and what it doesn’t?
Keen to know if it’s genuine bumper to bumper like any car in its first 3 years, or if there are a list of exclusions if need to mitigate.
It's deff not bumper to bumper. You'd be better speaking to a dealer and asking them to email across the paper work to look at. Keen to know if it’s genuine bumper to bumper like any car in its first 3 years, or if there are a list of exclusions if need to mitigate.

I spoke to them this morning and they sent me this link with the Ferrari approved webpage which details it.Other than brakes, tyres and serviceable parts like windowipers etc, they seem pretty adamant it’s pretty comprehensive.
Conscious the real world can often be a very different story, but is very tempting if true as it also has 2 free services left in the 7 year service plan

Some people - who didn’t have warranties - have said they don’t think they could have claimed.
But I know of one person, maybe he’s on here, that has claimed twice for a gearbox issue under warranty
But you are right when talking about “standard” oil leaks - if that’s even a thing. But an internal seal on the gearbox, I reckon, is claimable.
I have the Power 15 warranty for peace of mind. Also the car gets a thorough inspection each time it’s renewed.

You have not attached the link.
Sorry, I have newly created account so can't post direct links, but this seems to work if you copy-paste it: preowned.ferrari.com/en-GB/ferrari-approvedSeeking some finance figures on the 488, and residuals look strong, but I'm half hoping we see some interest rate drops soon to help with that.
This would be my first Ferrari and first supercar, coming from a 911 that was comprehensively covered with warranty. In the early stages but looking at the 992 GT3, 600LT, and Huracan Evo too.
It would be good to get some opinions on what to expect from Ferrari Approved warranty and if it's worth the paper it's written on, as the 488 is very high up my list.
In the McLaren world, companies like V Engineering and Thorney make the costs much more palatable for the self-warranty route and most buyers would see the service history from those specialists as plus points. Are there any Ferrari specialists that are equally well regarded to make it a realistic option without being detrimental to the car's history?

I replaced the battery in the 488 (pain in the arse).
Not sure if the trickle charger is broken. I've for the Ferrari one (below) and one which is essentially the same without the branding (CTEK). Both are only showing two lights illuminated:
How many lights is it meant to show?
Sorry couldn’t resist being a Star Trek fan…Not sure if the trickle charger is broken. I've for the Ferrari one (below) and one which is essentially the same without the branding (CTEK). Both are only showing two lights illuminated:

I've just had a price to renew the Power 15 warranty on my 458 - £3880 for 12 months. Think I'll 'self warranty' at that price
What did you pay last year?I’m very surprised that’s a renewal quote.

All of seven of them. Not sure if the trickle charger is broken. I've for the Ferrari one (below) and one which is essentially the same without the branding (CTEK). Both are only showing two lights illuminated:

If you have a 488 I presume you have the magnetic connector above the rear plate. Sometimes the magnets don’t hold the connector too well. That could be the issue - you can replace it or some on the internet suggest it can be a DIY fix

I'll have a look at the magnets. We've used two different chargers and changed the battery, so it sounds like an issue outside the of the battery and chargers.

Rightly or wrongly I have always taken out the extended Ferrari warranty on my 458. Are you aware that if it’s a continuation of an existing extended warranty policy you get a 15% discount if you haven’t claimed with a further 15% if no faults are found after the inspection. There is also a further discount if you combine the service ( it can be any of them as there are three different ones) and the warranty together, it’s called Power 15 & Maintenance which makes a substantial difference.
I only found this out by speaking to someone at another dealership. My dealership said they had no idea the plan existed which is not what you would expect, but having looked into it have agreed.

Sounds like your dealer operates a “don’t ask, don’t get” policy. There is also a further discount if you combine the service ( it can be any of them as there are three different ones) and the warranty together, it’s called Power 15 & Maintenance which makes a substantial difference.

It’s like people that sell their cars back to a dealer don’t get told that they can cancel the warranty and get a pro rata refund on the outstanding term.
