Post worked then !
I'm sure you will get more privately.
I heard from my dealer yesterday that they have got really strong prices for a couple of Speciales they have sold (ex demo which don't get advertised).

Mad as it sounds, I'm not now going to part with the Speciale. I will take the Aperta and will professionally store it along with some other special kit. It will not be going anywhere.

But after two serious offers at list yesterday, I kept thinking about the Speciale today, about what some of the callers said about the car, about what you said above and the fun I've had in it. And while my dealer did me a big favour yesterday (the Aperta is very rare and very special) the call was forcing a compromise I didn't plan for or want. So crap, the Speciale coupe will stay and I'll use this as my regular fix. That car has a pull all its own.

Cheers. Honestly it was the wife's logic as I was faffing around. Part of the deal is she gets to call when one or other is for the block. Fair enough wink

I do hope, that this does not mean, that the apparently extremely valuable SA, will never be driven- until sold again.

Seems a god solution if you are in a position to do that. The Speciale Aperta is a no brainer IMHO. Tried desperately to get one 9 months ago and was told I had no chance despite being a loyal and serial Ferrari owner. Obviously wasn't on the celebrity A list like yourself and La Ferrari customers had the "allocations" in front of me so they wouldn't even take a hefty deposit before it was officially announced.
By keeping the Speciale at least you can still drive the car knowing any depreciation and more will be covered by the appreciation on the Aperta. Perfect hedge bet as having a car that you can't drive is really frustrating.
The main reason I parted with my 430 Scuderia

Excellent decision! When buying fine wine I can never buy less than 2 bottles, then one can be drunk and another kept even longer. If I could do that with supercars I would too!

Camlet - I think you'll find it was the right decision! I think you made Marks decision for him, BTW. Spa was EPIC yesterday! So much great video and telemetry...The journey home was great too - until west London approach. I'm glad that I have HELE in mine. I've been to Spa twice in 4 weeks! Back once more before the end of the month! It's a great Track weapon!

GBRF430F1 - Why would Ferrari sell you an Aperta or LaFerrari? Or why didn't McLaren sell you an P1......

Don't you mean why wouldn't they ?

Was never in market for a P1 or La Ferrari but having bought several Ferrari's and approaching them very early days about an Aperta I thought I might have half a chance a leaving them with a deposit.
There were 2 La Ferrari customers and a few preferred clients with considerably more money than me that were given priority at the end of the day. ( rightly or wrongly )

Funny how GRBF430 says in one breath "Bought a 650S as its a great car and not bothered about depreciation" and then in another breath he says "Sold the Scud as couldn't drive it due to losing money".

You're either bothered or not?

So have you been a serial new Ferrari buyer? Those that got SpecA have all bought new Ferrari's in the past and will have had their name in for years, 9 months ago was far too late to get one for someone without a history of buying new Ferrari's
As for your last statement, you should have kept the Scud and not bought the 650S if not losing money was of concern smile

430 Scuderia was bought more as an investment whereas the 650S is purely to drive knowing it will depreciate so yes you can be bothered and not bothered with multiple cars.
Why it didn't work for me was I wanted to drive the Scuderia more rather than just look at it even though it was appreciating whilst doing so
That money is now in another rental property which I can't drive even if I wanted to and the capital and rental income will outstrip the appreciation on the Scud.

Having an appreciating car doesn't really work for me but at the same time no one wants to be losing their shirt every 12 months

Should have kept the Scud. It's gone up 20k since you bailed.

Perfect solution, the Speciale is such a great car ... The fact you are reluctant to part with it speaks volumes smile

Has it really ? Granted advertised prices have but I've not seen many of the 15,000 mile cars sell at those prices.
Ran the car for 6 months and made a little so not bothered.
Anyway the property has gone up more which I knew was the "sensible" option and the rental income is nice beer money biggrin
