458 great car, you can just unplug the valves so they're open all the time 2 minute job makes the car sound great.
Ahh How do I do that? Picking up my new 458 Italia (grigio Silverstone with reserved on it currently)from Meridian Modena It will have yellow callipers when i get it too

See those round things that look like top hats, well unplug the silicone hose's ( one each side) to the back of them put a golf tee into the end of the silicone hose and tie wrap it somewhere out of the way so it doesn't flap about. A golf tee or something similar diameter will do, I used some steel pins out of a racking system but I've seen golf tee's used a few times.
Job done!
Nice one! Hope it doesn't throw up an engine light warning or anything?

Not quite as simple as it was on the 430...

Looks like you have to remove the rear bumper to access the valves??

Anyone care to clarify please?

Cheers.

Remove rear diffuser.....gives you access to the valves, don't need to unplug the valves just unplug the vac connection before it splits to the valves and plug that, only one intervention with that method....easy peasy

Is this something I can ask a main dealer to do, or is it likely to result in frowns and chin rubs? Don't have access to a ramp to remove the rear diffuser even if I were mechanically inclined, which sadly I'm not.

Is there any downside at all to doing this other than presumably not being able to drive as carefully past peoples houses at night, etc? Any risk to the flaps getting seized or anything like that from lack of use?

It has no effect on the car to my knowledge, sure they are a bit loud on start up but you can tootle at low revs relatively quietly. Cant remember taking the rear diffuser off my car but I definitely unplugged it. Can't be that difficult if I did it, putting petrol in the car is as much as I can usually do (-:

Another question for you F guys out there smile

The Ferrari approved used website states:

Each Ferrari Approved car is meticulously prepared and presented for sale to Ferrari’s own extremely high exterior and interior standards. The exterior paintwork and interior trim and upholstery are carefully checked. If any repairs are required, only the finest quality materials will be used, of course.
At the end of each inspection, a detailed list of the checks and repairs carried out to allow the car join the Ferrari Approved program is placed in the glove compartment.

Did your car have this report in the glovebox on collection/delivery? Mine did not and although requested a few times this has not been forthcoming!?

Nope never seen any such report! I'd wager it doesn't exist!

It does exist, titled 'Ferrari Approved Checklist A & Checklist B (2x A4 pieces of paper), it covers and details everything checked and details of road test, etc. My two previous Graypaul cars have had his supplied prior to collection. This needs to be done by dealer and forwarded to Ferrari in order for the 24 month warranty to be put into place. Have you had the warranty paperwork through? I would push the dealer for the client copy.

Thanks - all I have had is an email from the dealer with a screen shot showing that my car has 2 x 12 month warranties applied from date of ownership.

I asked if I will get anything else and they said "no, it's all computerised and on the system"

No I didn't get that either. Picked up my 599 2 months ago and will be chasing dealer on Monday for the report.
