So you gotta be quick as most owners with 458's don't see any upgrade path so they are simply keeping them.
This is the automotive corner I feel painted into. I think my hankering for a 991 GT3 has passed especially as the prices have risen above the 458 which is completely illogical given the numbers made. The 458 has better steering as well being hydraulic I really do not buy into the electric steering is good now argument it just doesnt work. V8 vs 6 pot....looks....Only real benefit of the 911 is the running costs would be less and I don't think I would loose any sleep not having a warranty on the 911. I won't be renewing 458 one as the cost is just silly for the low mileage so will have to see how that affect my enjoyment of owning

A mate of mine might beg to differ .... his has been at Porsche for 4 weeks with the engine apart and no sign of a fix. God knows what the cost would have been if it was outside of its warranty.Spleen said:
There's a rather smart white 458 about to come up with Dick Lovett (if it hasn't gone already of course) at just under £166k.
They also have a very smart yellow 430 Scuderia up for £215k.
I am sure they will sell it but what a fussy looking car that 458 is, the carbon door handles and filler cap I find somewhat tacky, but I am not that fond of exterior carbon on the Italia, more suited to Speciale. They also have a very smart yellow 430 Scuderia up for £215k.

I personally wouldn't bother, the best thing to do is try and save up for a 2nd car alongside the 458The 458 has better steering as well being hydraulic I really do not buy into the electric steering is good now argument it just doesnt work. This I also contemplated swapping the 458 for a GT3 RS, but in the end as a road car the 458 is the more enjoyable car and knew I'd miss it and trying to find 458's in really good specification especially yellow is not easy, whereas finding a GT3 even an RS is an easier task.Best to just save, I have since added a 987.2 Boxster Spyder manual, WOW what another epic road car that is to enjoy, so small with truly incredible feel and steering feel that puts any 981/991/718 Porsche to shame.
Cant see me parting with either of my Fiats. Neither's successors has interested me in the slightest thus far.
I'm too attached to them both. Epic cars in completely different ways. Just been from York to Ayr and back last Saturday/Sunday over the Alston Pass, and some great roads in Dumfries, in the Spider with some mates in various cars. What a thing it is. Glorious. 60,000 miles between the cars approaching and still loving the pair. :-)
When the time comes for me to thin my collection down (a moment I intend to measure by how much I smell of piss and how many swear words it takes to get out of the Spider) I fully intend to keep the Spider and just look at it in the garage.

Been procrastinating between a 458 spider and F12 all year, having just rented the 458 for 4 days I can finally understand what the appeal is.
Now trying to man math justify owning both on the grounds it’s basically a BOGOF deal vs getting a new 812
Yep a 458 and a GT3 is better than a Speciale just like a 458 and an F12 is better than an 812.Now trying to man math justify owning both on the grounds it’s basically a BOGOF deal vs getting a new 812
What you waiting for.

Getting enough time off from my 70 hour work week that pays for such toys to leave central London and go and buy one. I ended up renting from bespokes because it was easier to get on the the tube to kings cross than going to buy one What you waiting for.
Lovely car though..43k on the clock and still runs like a dream shows they really can take the miles.
Was going to go buy the car autologix had but got back from my weekend to find another PH'er beat me too it!

43k? I thought they auto landfilled at about 30k?
43k rental miles as well.Given I did 390 miles in a weekend including a 2 hour crawl down the kings road in rush hour traffic and stuck in a huge traffic jam on the motorway and it didnt overheat, stop working or break down. Actually was in rude health and wore its miles very well - seemed to run much better than a couple of garage queens I looked at.
One of the reasons I'm totally sold on a 458. If it can run that well as a long term rental car with 40k plus miles then it's a solid old girl.
