Hmmm strange, the heater and air con on my 05 F430 work a treat
You must be the lucky one then. I've never had a Ferrari where these basic things work effectively. My 2009 F430 spider was better the F355 GTS but even so it was woefully weak. The coldest setting was never really cold and the hot setting would only be warm in the air con mode. The Ferrari dealer told me they are all like that, its a Ferrari what do you expect Its all about the engine and drive lolIt was all checked out and re-gassed etc but compared to the Gallardo/audi equivalent it was pants.
The G system goes lower/colder and higher/hotter, its dual zone and the heater works without the air con being on. I think its the ruthless efficiency of German engineering
Not that its the be all and end all so I just lived with it as I was driving a Ferrari but it is pretty poor on reflection for an expensive supercar and why I'm gradually converting from a born Ferrari fan to Lamborghini.
With Lambo you get the best of both worlds - Italian Flair and German engineering. As a fussy/anal owner this seems to be a better blend for me but not that I'm going to part with the F355GTS in my lifetime
I must be lucky!!!! As my heater and air con work just fine in my 430... In fact better than the R8 I use to have

I'm rapidly becoming a convert and find myself talking bull
heater and aircon work fine on my 430 Spider and my 360 Challenge Stradale, in fact blasting across Europe in the summer with my mate in the car we regularly used to turn the AC off as it was freezing us! Your must have been a wrong un, clearly
I think for posing, making noise and drawing crowds, the Lambo wins
For a seat of your pants driving experience in a proper supercar (rather than an Audi in new clothes), the Ferrari wins.
My air con and heating also work a treat so take your car elsewhere for another opinion.
As to regards the Audi boys, did I ever mention the time I went to a Lambo meet? We went to a indi dealer who walked round with his laptop thingy resetting a LOT of people's error codes / management lights on their dashboards.
Not only did it make me laugh it also sadly put me off buying a Lambo.
But don't forget, a car manufacturer is not your football team, you can enjoy and mingle with the "dark side". There should be no loyalty to one or the other

I am in both camps ( with a F355 GTS and LP570-4 Performante ) and remain a Ferrari fan.As to regards the Audi boys, did I ever mention the time I went to a Lambo meet? Probably like many Ferrari fanatics I didn't think much of Lamborghini until I bought the Performante in preference to a 458 Italia.
Having experienced both I'm rapidly becoming a Lamborghini convert but will still consider the lightweight 458 spider if and when it is built

Hello everyone,
I am thinking of dipping my toe into Ferrari ownership, however, after owning and only being interested in Porkers for several years I have to admit I have no knowledge of the F430 so I'm interested to hear any helpful hints and advice on buying and also a low down on real world running costs. I'm sure this topic has been covered many times before so if there's a link available that would be great.
Many many thanks in advance,
Kevin

In the words of Gary Barlow....'absolutely fantastic!'
Well done!
Well done!

I did indeed and haven't stopped smiling since, when all the handover stuff was completed with the dealer I just sat in the car for a good ten minutes soaking up the moment, it was a very special few minutes I'll never forget

Ah didn't realise Dubai was heading so staunchly down the speed camera route! Saudi is the same, most are mobile at the moment, 4x4s parked up at the side of the road with cameras mounted in the back. But they have just rolled out a new state-of-the-art monitoring system for junctions which also monitor speed. The good news is this is only concentrated in the main cities, outwith that there is endless unwatched desert road and the traffic police here are a joke. Their driving is worse than most other half-asleep drivers and they blatantly ignore serious dangerous driving and speed. I overtook a marked traffic car at 110mph+ on a single carriage way by accident and they didn't bat an eye.
Accidents are horrendous and part of everyday life here, this month alone I have seen two dead bodies in cars and one on the road. When they have an accident here, they have a big one. Driving is a risk here, I have narrowly avoided cars driving the wrong way up a motorway, cars parked on the inside lane of a motorway as they converse with a driver parked on the hard shoulder and countless acts of stupidity that only someone mentally unstable would peform. Add to that the fact that no one wears a seatbelt including young kids and it makes for an interesting time on the roads.
There's roads here that I wish I had the F430 for but the vast majority I am happy having a big 4x4!
Drop me a pm if youre ever in KSA near Al Khobar and I will take you for a 'pint'.
I've been to saudi three times for pilgrimage and always found the standard of driving to be scary...in a kind of near death experience kind of way....they really are dangerous roads and usersAccidents are horrendous and part of everyday life here, this month alone I have seen two dead bodies in cars and one on the road. sadly, I just cannot bring myself to buy a lambo
May I ask why? Serious question. I'd love to try the pricier 2WD Gallardos as I think they look amazing, and are much more dramatic/have more of a sense of humour than the Ferraris.

The feel of the Gallardo (at least the 07 spider I drove) isn't as nice as a 360 or 430 IMO. The engine is great, but the way the car feels in terms of steering and weighting isn't as "fun" as the V8 ferraris in my opinion. Anyone else agree? Lambo is more about the experience.
I agree. I sold my 430 coupe with the intention of buying a Gallardo. Didn't like it on the test drive and ended up buying a 430 spider.I prefer the looks of the Gallardo and the 430 to drive.
