Just been invited to test drive one - on a track then on the road. Decided to accept the invitation
Me too...quite excited I hope it's worth the travel and not five mins. Have you been to a Ferrari thing like this before?

It’s 2 hours for me to get there. I hope it's worth the travel and not five mins. Have you been to a Ferrari thing like this before?
I haven’t done this with Ferrari, been getting invitations for about 12 months, after I started looking for my first Ferrari and test drove one with a main dealer.
I’ve done similar with Audi many years ago when I bought an S4. It could be a good morning.
Don’t know about the Tributo test drives but I went to a Lusso test drive a couple of years ago and it was about half an hour on an ice track and then another half hour on the road (plus hotel paid for), so Ferrari usually do these things quite well and well worth going
Been invited to a Tributo drive by the dealer but not going as wont buy the car anyway - looks good though imo
Enjoy - am sure it will be fun - the Italians are masters at roping you in

I have an F8 Spider on order and have been told Q3 2021. To fill the gap I have bought a very well specced 488GTB and I love it so much I am now wondering if the jump up to the F8 Spider will be worth the outlay, especially when I will not be adding the £95k of options my current 488 has! I have drove the F8 in Italy on track and road and it is epic, but coming back to the UK and driving the 488 immediately afterwards I cannot say on the road there was no appreciable difference. Better yes but it was certainly not night and day. The additional £100k an F8 Spider is going to cost I am wondering if my money is better elsewhere..... like putting it to an F12???
I drove it in Italy too and found it difficult to compare to my 488 there but you always garner so much more on home turf and having driven it here now I would say the difference is significant especially if you are responsive to the nuances of driving and feel/feedback. So no need to worry !Steering, damping, chassis feel, noise, motor at the top end ....
The increased steering feel and extra urgency/cresendo at the top end might alone justify the price of admission IMO.
Overall it is just far less "videogame" than the 488, far more like a fine wine .... and yet I absolutely adored my 488
I also have a 488 and had a 60 minute testdrive in a F8 on Wednesday..I love my 488 and find it a very difficult car to find criticism in however the F8 is improved in nearly all ways..Based on my drive its quite simply the best car i've ever driven..Easier to drive than the 488 with the smaller steering wheel the biggest improvement in feel and ease of use..
It looks fantastic in the metal especially in Rosso Scuderia..I'm almost certain to upgrade my 488 for one but baulk at buying a brand new one with the exorbitant option prices with the resulting depreciation hit..
If i stick to the standard no-cost colours how much would i need to spend on options to get a sensible yet saleable F8.?

I think that’s the problem. Minimum decent spec will be £25-£30k and easy to get into the £40k’s. My 488 has £44k of options with no excess paint to include all the ‘resale essentials’ and hence it’s a £250k car. With a gpf free Pista now just about at £280k, a new F8 is a difficult buy to justify if concerned about depreciation imo.It looks fantastic in the metal especially in Rosso Scuderia..I'm almost certain to upgrade my 488 for one but baulk at buying a brand new one with the exorbitant option prices with the resulting depreciation hit..

Amazed at the way Ferrari have dialled out all the turbo lag on these now.
If you didn't know it was a turbo car you would not pick it up from the throttle response as its just like a N/A car.
Very impressed with the step up in quality as well, seems ferrari have responded to the Mclaren threat at last

The 488's engine is already hugely impressive with virtually undetectable turbo lag but in the F8 there is absolutely zero turbo lag and the best engine i've ever experienced. In fact i found the F8 pretty much perfect and an extremely difficult car to find any criticism whatsoever..If you didn't know it was a turbo car you would not pick it up from the throttle response as its just like a N/A car.

The steering wheel weighing and feedback is particularly impressive and the first modern day Ferrari i've driven with a perfect rack..The performance is mind boggling at all revs up to the 8K limit with no flat spots whatsoever..Even the engine noise is great despite the exhaust GPFs no doubt helped by having the Race grade Inconel headers.
The only problem is the need to spend so much on options to get it up to a desirable specification but i suppose if you can afford to spend over £200K on a weekend two seater toy, then what's another £40K on top.!

Drove it last year for half a day around the mountains of Marenello and the the next day on the Fiorano race track courtesy Ferrari.
Impressive but not double the money of a 458 impressive IMHO
In touch with around 10 of the 14 that went in our group. No one ordered one. All were 458 and 488 owners. One guy that I know ordered the car but he has a a few supercars from various brands and is one to be seen in the latest car.
Apart from that don’t know anyone who has. With the Pista’s dropping like bricks I’d rather have one of those. They look much nicer.
