Queuing for a run up at Prescott a couple of weeks ago!

Great pic. The original vertical tailpipe California got a lot of brickbats when it came out but it was in my view, and still is in my view, one great looking car. I especially like the way the side sculpting reflects the top line of the 250 California, a clever nod to the past, whilst looking totally modern. Don’t miss the hopeless SatNav though…
Yes I too didn’t like the car when it first came out but the retro design with the modern twist just seems to work so well now. These car designers really are visionaries in my view. Seeing what the rest of us can’t, as we always judge based on what has passed rather than seeing today for today.

I was exactly the same when it first came out, but think they have aged amazingly. I like it so much I’ve just put a deposit down on one smile

Agreed. I much preferred the T upon its launch but over time the original really started to interest me more. So much so that two years ago we changed our Modena for one. The side sculpting and vents, along the grill & bonnet vent are a great nod to the 250, something that was sadly lost on the T.

I will be collecting this next week!
Originally I’d wanted a 360 but found them a bit small (I’m tall and have long legs so couldn’t sit comfortably). I did then consider a 430 and was pretty sold on that, but the more I thought about how I wanted to use the car the more it seemed a California would be the best option. Cannot wait to take my daughter out in it!

My best mate is looking at Cali Ts, so naturally I am looking at Cali Ts a lot as we talk about what we each may buy!

I have to say I agree about the side sculpting of the original plus the stacked pipes, which I don’t like from the back have a look of the old megaphone pipes of the 60/70s when viewed from the side.

I’ve owned both and found the T lacking in character ( read ‘ noise ‘ ) after the non turbo Cali.
I think I’d get another California and spend money on upgrading the stereo / sat nav / apple car play etc .

I test drove a Cali T a few months ago and I came away really underwhelmed, it was a joy to get back in my F430 with all the noise etc. Probably says more about what I want from a Ferrari than a criticism of the car itself.

Exactly - for me I just wanted a sense of ‘event ‘ when I started it up - I did get a bit tired of people saying ‘it’s not a real Ferarri ‘ and ‘it’s a bit slow’ when all I care about was ragging it down the dual carriageway whilst listening to some 80s disco . . .

I too preferred the Cali T when it came out but although they are all exceptional cars, I just loved the retro look of this. Mabye the car has aged well, Mabye it’s just that I’m 8 years older now. Who knows.

It’s a lovely thing to enjoy with the wife and young kids. They fit perfectly for now. Mabye a v12 lusso is needed in a few years time when they are taller.

On the comment above. Not had any one say it’s not a real Ferrari or it’s slow. Certainly doesn’t seem that way if you are up to speed with driving a normally aspirated vehicle.

Defo going to get the corner weights done and a geo shortly as something as simple as this can really wake a car up on the bends and mean you can get on the power earlier.

Thanks - Avio blue, had never seen another one like it. First Ferrari so still doesn’t feel real!

That was me last year. Wanted to do it before I hit 40. Still so amazing every time I walk up to it to get in or look at it. It doesn’t wear off. My favourite part is the shields!!
