Buckets an absolute must for me in a 458, I actually found them comfier than the comforts. That aside you sit lower in the buckets and feel more connected with the car, so for me were a must.

Everyone is different but it does seem in the used market there is more demand for 458's with buckets and they certainly fetch stronger money, a bit like carbon driver zone, dash, paddles, central tunnel really lifts the interior from the fisher price tacky plastic silver trim they had as standard.

The seats and carbon interior for me were a must.

The carbon seats were an absolute “must have” in both my 458 and my 488. Love the way they look (main reason) and I find them really comfortable. They are ridiculously expensive to retrofit. From what I have seen cars with them sell easier and for more money.

This 4 owner Pista looks good value does anyone know anything about the car? Would imagine the seller will have to swallow a bitter pill on depreciation even on the final price
Seen that and watching closely as I'm in the market for a Pista. Really dislike the spec on that so won't be bidding, but it's a brilliant indicator for where the market is, given most Pista prices have slid a little, but haven't quite fallen off the cliff yet.

Under £120k and definitely worth owning

I’d love to buy that, but about £15k more than my current car budget. Do they offer a good warranty or is it a case of realistically you’re out on your own?

Pista is 210 now. What’s wrong with spec, looks good to me?

Seem to recollect the last Pista on CC sold earlier this year for around £290k.

I imagine you would get very well looked-after if anything went wrong during the initial ownership period. They are a very professional outfit and Roger is a good bloke. My 355 dropped a cylinder on the way back from Le Mans. I called him in the evening, on a Sunday, and he was happy for me to drop the car off at his house (much) later that evening and he'd sort it from there. If I didn't expect to be out of a job at some point in the next few months (IT contractor, City), I'd be buying that car myself.

Sorry, to clarify - Spec is fine, it's a lovely car (and carbon wheels!) - but I'm allergic to RC. I saw an RC Pista and found the color lacking depth and lustre. Maybe it's in my head, no idea.

£310k in May 2022.

But then this thing was up there not too long ago and didn't meet reserve, although the spec on this one is a bit of an acquired taste.

My best guess - this auction ends up £240-250k, unsold. Or sells at £270ish. Either/or.

Strong money for a car with 35k on the clock.
Prices for good spec cars still holding up well.

"Worth owning," if any variant, at any age, with any history, at any mileage of 458 is 'worth owning'. Which I agree with.

However, if this is an attempt obliquely as an example of a 458 that demonstrates current values, note it's a 35k mile car. Its about as desirable as a Mondial. Jokes, of course; but don't use a [in Ferrari terms] 'high miler' as indicative of the state of the market. Just demonstrates the calibre of utter waffle from people with no idea which permeates this thread.

Apart from having owned one and working in the trade yeah its just waffle. 35k is with in the acceptable mileage range for a 458. If you want sub 20k those cars are at a big premium always have been. 25 to 40k miles is the sensible bit of the market and all of these cars have dropped about 20k from the peak. Up at the top end I suspect there will have been bigger drops but who knows what deals are being done at the moment by dealer actually holding owned stock its a pretty bad situation although a lot of prestige dealers will have been moving more to SOR from about the middle of last year which is actually when this drop began.

You have misinterpreted, either intentionally or otherwise. I apologise if my post has offended you and your 'trade' knowledge.

I don't disagree with your comment. Cars 'worth owning' may indeed become available, within your suggested timescale, at the value you suggest. My post indicates the example of at KHPC is not proof that the market is yet where you suggest.

Simply to feed the rather trollish response you have given - how do you define 'acceptable mileage'?

None taken we have thick skin!

I tell it like it is sorry if my replies aren't the echo chamber you might want but we deal with unemotional bare facts not emotion in the business.

Acceptable mileage range is the mileage of the car you'll have the easiest time selling.

Something with 25 to 35k and good spec will sell (see Gibbos sale recently his fell into this category and achieved a sale when hardly anything else in this market is moving) If you have a 3000 mile one I suspect this would be hard to to sell (unless you drop the price accordingly) likewise a poor spec theres no point in looking at as a punter as you'll just get a great deal on one with decent spec.

All of this stuff is just basics but when times are hard it just serves to remind that a low mile high spec car is always preferable as it will be easier to shift on when the time comes.

It’s not clear you do deal in facts. One minute you’re trying to claim 458s are crashing in price, the next minute you’re posting an Italia being advertised at £120k but with 35k miles on the clock. Hardly a price crash then is it?

And it’s a trade seller so presumably they are dealing in bare facts too.

I'm not saying they have crashed? 20k isn't a crash in price they have just had a correction. Porsche owners will be looking enviously at a mere 20k drop.

And I didn't post it.

I posted the ad in response to fridaypassion's comment that ones worth owning will get down to 115-120k over winter. My point was that this example was already within that price range and we're barely into the start of winter now.

Perhaps the comment should have been the ones worth "collecting" - which should cover the low mileage ones that owners can speculate on as an investment. Although far too many of these were made to be a collectors item in my opinion

Yeah the sub say 10k cars there will be a market but I think a tough tough sell right now. They will come back there's no doubt about it might take a while but there may be a few 458s around but when you drill down into the spec/miles your looking for there might be one or two that fit. When I sold mine I think it was about the only RC car with carbon seats that wasn't one of the "collector" type mileage/price. I think I sold that for 135 with 25000 miles? 18 months back. Probably that car has dropped 10k but I sold it pretty cheap at the time just to move it on and buy a GT3.

The chaps that are not liking the fact that their cars have gone down in price I've got a 600LT performing just the same in the garage so I'm feeling the pain as well! It is what it is and these cars always go down in winter so some of what we're seeing is a seasonal dip. We will hopefully see a degree of rebound in the new year although the Covid prices will likely take a few years to get back to. Just drove the things.
