458 great car, you can just unplug the valves so they're open all the time 2 minute job makes the car sound great.
Ahh How do I do that? Picking up my new 458 Italia (grigio Silverstone with reserved on it currently)from Meridian Modena It will have yellow callipers when i get it tooSee those round things that look like top hats, well unplug the silicone hose's ( one each side) to the back of them put a golf tee into the end of the silicone hose and tie wrap it somewhere out of the way so it doesn't flap about. A golf tee or something similar diameter will do, I used some steel pins out of a racking system but I've seen golf tee's used a few times.
Job done!

Looks like you have to remove the rear bumper to access the valves??
Anyone care to clarify please?
Cheers.
Is this something I can ask a main dealer to do, or is it likely to result in frowns and chin rubs? Don't have access to a ramp to remove the rear diffuser even if I were mechanically inclined, which sadly I'm not.
Is there any downside at all to doing this other than presumably not being able to drive as carefully past peoples houses at night, etc? Any risk to the flaps getting seized or anything like that from lack of use?

It has no effect on the car to my knowledge, sure they are a bit loud on start up but you can tootle at low revs relatively quietly. Cant remember taking the rear diffuser off my car but I definitely unplugged it. Can't be that difficult if I did it, putting petrol in the car is as much as I can usually do (-:Is there any downside at all to doing this other than presumably not being able to drive as carefully past peoples houses at night, etc?
