I have an F8 Spider on order and have been told Q3 2021. To fill the gap I have bought a very well specced 488GTB and I love it so much I am now wondering if the jump up to the F8 Spider will be worth the outlay, especially when I will not be adding the £95k of options my current 488 has! I have drove the F8 in Italy on track and road and it is epic, but coming back to the UK and driving the 488 immediately afterwards I cannot say on the road there was no appreciable difference. Better yes but it was certainly not night and day. The additional £100k an F8 Spider is going to cost I am wondering if my money is better elsewhere..... like putting it to an F12???
This was always going to be the problem for Ferrari launching so many models! Too much choice out there which makes the used cars much better alternatives than the very expensive new cars. Of course there are still that uber rich clientele who give two hoots and will buy anything and everything that they launch but IMHO all these model launches are killing the brand.

I think it is great more choice and more depreciation. If/when it will start to impact new car sales to a level where it concerns Ferrari, they will do something about it. They are above 10k cars now and should be much more once they launch their suv - should have bought some shares.WCZ said:

Indeed dropping approx 100k on depreciation for a Lusso v12 in order to get your ideal spec Pista sounds like a good deal to me
this. the pista is only going down tooIf you're buying that is. Which is why I bought one.
150k depreciation is nearer the mark btw.
I'm sure Pista will fall hard too, albeit by nowhere near as much. Simply wait until the track version of the Tributo is announced.

Yep look at Mclaren, used values are in the toilette but also the problem with so many models is the cars are all so similar, in terms of Mclaren they all use the same shockily poor sounding engine, how they can make a V8 sound so woeful is beyond me, they all use same carbon tub too.You can pickup a 570S for like 80k if you shop around and that is with like 15k miles on the clock, but Mclaren also don't have nice things said about after service or reliability which does not help.
But are Ferrari going same way, I mean how many cars have Ferrari put the 3.9l turbo engine in with different states of tune, yes they want to sell more cars but at the same time it makes the cars less special IMHO.
That is why the 458's are becoming more sought after because it was such a beautiful looking car and had that very special motor in it which only appeared in the 458 Italia and Speciale, though the California did get a very cut down version of the engine.
For me my perfect Ferrari garage would be a 458 Speciale, F12 or 812 or somekind and dare I say it a California 30 Edition, they all have one thing in common, epic sounds from the NA engine and all fun at legal speeds though the F12/812 maybe not, and for me another great would be the F430 manual, simply because its the last most modern Ferrari that had a manual gated box.
All these super car manufacturers in a way have forgotton what so many owners love, a fun, amazing sounding engaging car at legal speeds, chasing downforce, horsepower has made the modern supercar if anything boring to drive at legal speeds unless all your about is posing in London. Give me the slower NA car anyway, but at the same time don't give me something so old and so raw that it is tragically slow or simply not pleasurable to drive on a daily basis, that for me is why F430, 458, California and F12 hold a real special spot in my mind.

£150k is nuts considering the pista is going for near list now, you'd have saved £100-120,000 just by getting a pista on the after market! If you're buying that is. Which is why I bought one.

there are people who are very close to ferrari that are adament a Tributo track version is not going to happe.
