been looking at Porsches, 996 turbo, gt2 and gt3, but I also want to drive a 360 as a comparison and see where my heart takes me? 360 is the only Ferrari that interests me at my budget of around £45k.

it would be a coupe, and it would have to have a manual box

just interested in the main running costs involved in ownership, big jobs, issues, servicing etc.

many thanks
nick

chill out search police!
always had my heart set on a 911, but thought I should try a Ferrari as well before spending the hard earned without comparison.

I didn't know a ph buyers guide existed, im not on this forum every hour of the day, so im not so familiar with it, especially since the format has recently changed.

i prefer some sort of personal experience and opinion and interaction with other owners rather than just searching previous threads anyway, is that not what a forum is for? if no one ever asked any questions and just looked in the archives then you would never have any active threads lol.

rather than moaning about me not searching, why don't you point me in the direction of said ph buyers guide, like the kind poster above you did pointing me to his buying guide, or give me some thoughts on your experience of owning a Ferrari (if you own one??) and try tempt me away from the porsches which have always been the car i wanted to own more than others (within my budget)

cheers

I forgot rardley were just down the road! no 360 in stock atm but certainly worth a call and a chat.

I realise the same questions may get frustrating for regular forum users, but if you don't like it, just don't bother replying lol. for me part of the experience of getting a car like this is conversing with current owners who can shed light on there experiences, ups and downs etc, we all share the same passion!

does anyone have a 360 with a quicksilver exhaust? I love the sound of the capristo and tubi exhausts, but quicksilver are a very local company to where I live, and I have dealt with paul in the past. I do like a noisy exhaust, so just wondered what they were like in comparison to something like the others mentioned.

although I love the 911's there are a couple of things that let them down for me for the newer models, which are the interiors are shocking, and the turbos don't really make much of a noise. I love the noise of a gt3 though. the Ferrari and gt3 noise are so different, but both sound awesome! for me, noise is a massive part of the experience, and the Ferrari ticks that box, as well as having a much nicer interior than the porsches.

I do like 355. But tbh its just getting a little bit old now. I would prefer slightly newer 360.

Although that doesnt say I will discount the 355. You never know I may drive one and love it!

Tbh the running costs mentioned above dont worry me one bit! I have had cars worth a tenth of the price of a 360 with similar running costs lol.

thanks for all the input and advice! all useful information, and thanks for the links to buying guides etc.

i think the 360 is the car i prefer, but will keep an open mind when looking.

how much is an inspection and recommended company to use?

cheers

im sorry but im really not interested in the f1 box, for me it has to be a manual! i have driven many semi auto cars and they just dont do it for me at all. as said its down to personal preference, and many will enjoy the f1 box, but i just have to have a clutch and a gearstick!

just chatting with a friend who worked as a technician at joe macari for a few years, to get some insight into the car from someone who worked on them every day!

thanks again for all the replies and insight into these cars! the next step is to try and drive a couple!

my next question is, can i expect to test drive a couple of these from dealers/independents? or is getting a drive in one more difficult than expected. i have had mixed reactions in the past walking into posh car dealerships and asking about cars the salesperson thinks i probably cant afford.
the other one i usually get is to agree a deal before driving a car?? which to me feels like a complete waste of time, as i may not be interested in buying that car after driving it.
i want to drive one first of all, to confirm weather its a car i want to buy, i may drive one and decide i much prefer the 911?

im 27, and so on the slightly younger side of the usual ferrari buyer?

one thing that does wind me up is not being taken seriously because i am younger and not wearing the appropriate watch/shoes/attire lol. i have walked into certain places before in my dirty work clothes and received a very warm welcome and even offered a test drive in a brand new m3, and then other times been dressed smartly and totally ignored or spoken to rudely. i dont feel the need to dress up like im going to a job interview just to go and look at cars!

yeah i understand that they have to work out if your a serious buyer. i wouldnt mind putting a deposit down to drive a car, as long as if it wasnt for me i would get the deposit straight back. at least that shows im willing to stump up some cash to drive the car.
