Matt,looks fantastic.You changed the spec !
Just posted asking when first cars arriving so now look like a prat.
Hi Andrew! Yes I changed the spec last minute, whilst the grey with stripe looked nice I thought the red with black roof would suit better! All other spec is the same as we spec'ed at the factory though! Bet you can't wait for yours to arrive!!?!

After driving it for a bit I can report the following:

Its bloody brilliant smile)

The reason the radio is not standard - you cant hear it. The road noise is very loud, driving 150+ miles yesterday on the motorway you actually arrive at your destination slightly deaf. With a headache. Its not so much the exhaust, just the fact its so lightweight there is nothing between you and the road. Its at least twice as loud as my 599 GTO.

The noise the car makes is not like a standard 458. The sound is much deeper, more throaty and VERY loud. Everybody turns road to see whats making the noise. Its again, louder than my 599 GTO but also travels further as its a deeper sound. A lady waved at me last night to slow down last night and I was only doing 35.

Gearchanges are brutal. Downshifts are so fast the whole car jolts, if you blip the throttle on downshifts the exhaust pop and crackle like a single clutch gearbox would. The up-shifts are one of the smoothest and seamless I have ever experienced, much better than 458 and F12.

Acceleration from a rest to 70 without launch control is quicker than my F12 with launch control without doubt.

The fastest point to point car I had driven up till now on quick B/back roads was an MP4-12C. The Speciale is quicker and much more fun. The chassis and drive-train are so much more alive and responsive than the 12C.

Put simply the Speciale is a 458 Challenge for the road, the way you sit low, the road-holding and the relentless acceleration together with the nimbleness.

If you currently own a 458 of any type, when the dealer demo cars arrive go and drive one and see how far removed the speciale is from a standard 458. Its night and day.

Off to drive it some more now biggrin

Yep the sports exhaust is just the external tips. I kept mine standard as the standard ones are lighter in colour and look a bit larger as they appear more visible.

The car comes very well spec'ed as standard, full CF interior as standard. To put it into contrast even with the options I had, my speciale was actually £20,000 cheaper than my 458 spider! Bargain ;-)

The SSC is very good, especially at roundabouts. I took a friend out last night and had to admit it wasn't my driving. Very controllable and fun. Dead easy to use, simply induce oversteer, turn the wheel to counteract it and the car does the rest. Nice slides :-D

My new favorite thing about the Speciale - went out for a late night blast and when following it the exhausts glow bright orange. Looks like it has four rear lights when following it. Yes I'm sad. :-)

So who was driving to enable you to see that? Definitely worth a photo if you can get one.
A friend. I was following in the F12, then we swapped. F12 quicker at higher speeds but 458S quicker and more settled in the twisties.
