Guessing the engine is probably going to consume a bit of oil, should I be carrying a spare litre in the boot just in case computer says its thirsty?

Oh right that's reassuring to know it should be good between services. What's the correct grade? Wouldn't dare pull of the driveway in my m3 which routinely drinks a half a litre every few thousand miles...

Definitely not. Have done 5000 miles including 5 track days with no top ups needed
Yeah but didn't you have the oil changed after each trackday? Thought there was some bumff about this being required to keep the warranty intact?

Correct sir.

Due to the dry sump the engine needs to be HOT 80' - 90' and then dip to check (use a cloth to unscrew the cap as it will burn you). Best oil is Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40. Probably no need to keep oil in the car, I personally would be stressing in case of a spill. I check regularly and before a long run...

Hope that helps.
Brilliant thanks for the info, I'm surprised this engine uses such a run of the mill oil having been pouring racing-this, RS-that in large capacity revvy engines of other marques over the years
