Just wondering what people's thoughts are on whether it's worth having an independant PPI done if buying an Approved used Ferrari from a main dealer.

These are the exact two arguments I've been having with myself.

Decisions, decisions.

Have you asked whether they’ll entertain a ppi?
I haven't yet because I'm trying to establish if it would be worth it.

Given that at the moment I have one yay and one nay, I'm no better off. lol.

Just ask them. If you’re looking at an F40 or Enzo etc they’ll likely say “feel free, whoever you want”… for a regular road car they’ll probably say they don’t have the capacity to take it places, and aren’t allowed to bring people in the workshop.

And don’t forget, peoples opinions on piston heads will mean fark all to a dealership biggrin
Thank you for those insights. Putting it that way I can see where your coming from.

I'm looking at a 7 year old 488 which being an Approved used car comes with a 2 year Power 15 warranty. It appears to be quite comprehensive covering most of the major components, but excludes oil leaks and dampers. Two things that I'm led to believe can be problematic.

Ahh, so you're buying a 7 year old sports car, irrespective of where from. A car with known weaknesses that can be assessed subjectively.

Choices are to get it inspected prior to purchase, or take it somewhere immediately after and get it checked and then see what your chances are at getting it rectified.

Personally I'd be going for the first option.
Sorry, poor articulation on my part.

The car I'm looking at is at Marenello and is in the process of having their pre warranty inspection done. Once any work requiring rectification is completed they then put the Ferrari approved 2 year warranty on it.
