They're bloody good cars. One of the few V12 4 seater Ferraris that are usable and sought after and pretty reliable despite the propaganda.

There is nothing other than a Lusso that could replace it and I'm not so keen on the Lusso.

I'm certainly not parting with mine.

There are a little over 200 FFs in the UK and you're looking for a specific spec. Let's say 15% of them are launch spec. Probably 30 cars, remove the ones people are unlikely to sell, high milers, a bit of damage. Maybe you're looking for one of 10 cars in the UK and you want to low ball them?

In short, these don't depreciate like 4 seat Ferraris have historically because they're just so damn good.

That said, most of these were high £260k + when new so 60% depreciation is not to be sniffed at.

You have to pay to play.....

imo the Ferrari warranty is not worth all that much, so I certainly would not pay 10k+ more for one with it
I do not think I have ever read about an engine going bust (mine is at 100k km now), I did pay for it for like 6 years and regret wasting that money - wish I could have that decision back

Edit: among others because it also means servicing the car at Ferrari at 200 Euros an hour plus
Apparently the warranty was changed recently and it’s not longer just a power warranty but a full on comprehensive one now

I am happy to pay, but I wanted to understand the lack of depreciation. Thanks for providing some insight.
I am set on that launch colour, so if anyone knows a Maranello Rosso car with tan and under 30K miles with a warranty I would be very interested, and have cash burning a hole in my pocket!

Thanks in advance

I think values often drop when a car is replaced, which hasn't really happened with the FF (Lusso is considered a facelift and Purosangue something else). So it remains the most recent shape of V12 Ferrari four-seat GT, which may support values.

On a completely different topic, does anyone have the definitive view on FF exhaust valve settings for the wet, comfort and sport driving modes. Cheers,

Ah did not know that - then it makes more sense to get it for peace of mind

There's the low mileage car at GVE although it's strong money and I'm not a fan of the cream inserts or for that matter GVE or there's the N Largo car on Autotrader that could probably be returned to standard

the value of these is insane imo, i'd be happy with a 458 and a higher mileage ff, £200k all in and you've got a perfect couple!

That N Largo car has been on sale for ages now. It's strong money for a modified example.

Well I decided not to renew the Power15 on my FF this year. I no longer see the value in it despite having used it during the last 12 months.

My dealer allowed it to lapse before I realised it had expired. So I would have needed to have paid for an inspection (despite having just had a service). All the items listed as requiring attention at the last service would have be addressed by the dealer at dealer prices before the warranty would be considered.

So I did the maths, added up what it cost to have all the work done at Ferrari + take the warranty = nearly £10K

I decided it was time to self insure. The main thought process is this.

If the PTU goes pop I'm not taking it to Ferrari anyhow - I want the SS Autotech upgrade - no point taking a warranty.

The list of things no longer covered by the Power15 is so lengthy that really you're just insuring against catastrophic DCT or Engine failure. Much less than that and realistically you're on your own. Bar electrical gremlins.

I love this car, I've decided it's going nowhere so I've set out with the intention of addressing all the little things that need doing to just bring it up to scratch. Any pipes showing age or corroding - replace them as they're found. Just get it right and running nicely.

I've decided to get all the plugs changed, at 34,000 we think they're still on the same set so it makes sense £30 per plug 4-5 hours labour. Whilst a perished PTU hose and tank are replaced at the same time and a thorough clean out and refilling of the actuation side of the PTU at the same time. So that will be around £2K supplied and fitted.

I figure the money I'm saving at the main dealer and warranty would be better invested in preventative care, proactive rather than reactive.

Are you sticking with main dealer or do you use someone else to look after it?

I'm using KHPC in Maidstone (aka The Ferrari Centre). Roger who owns it, uses an FF as a daily so he's very familiar with any quirks of the car.

The labour rate is £105 p/h and you're getting parts at Scuderia/Eurospares prices as they are sourcing direct from factory supplies.

Servicing I'm on the fence. Ferraris carry a disproportionate value of having main dealer stamps when it comes to resale, the thing is, I'm unlikely to sell in the near future and I'm piling miles on my car so whos stamps they are is probably a mute point going forward as long as it's well cared for. I'll likely go with KHPC for servicing too.

I don't dislike Jardine Sevenoaks, they've treated me very well, but when the same maintainance is available elsewhere, to at least the same standard, using the same factory parts at almost half the price, why would I consider using the main dealer when out of warranty?

Just cross posting here from my Readers Cars thread, but I've had a pleasant surprise from my Power15 today.

JCT600 Leeds have replaced a rear wheel bearing, and front wishbone bushes under Power15. Like you I assumed this warranty was only good for a gearbox or engine failure, so suddenly I've got a new found respect in it. It was also cheaper than I expected to renew, I think I had USD prices in my head after googling it years ago.

I've not actually seen the paperwork for a Power15, as I inherited it with the car - but I will be renewing as a result of my positive experience, and I'll be sure to report on the actual scope of cover once I have a document.

I’m surprised they covered the brushes, as normally they would wriggle out under wear and tear, so that is a big result.

i cannot for the life of me remember where, but I read or was told recently that the Ferrari approved used warranty had got a lot more comprehensive recently, way more than the previous Power warranty.
Can anyone shed some official light, as that would make buying an approved Ferrari a no brainer for me if that were the case!

Once my renewal completes, I'll hopefully have some paperwork that I'll happily share!

I learned yesterday that they don't change wishbone bushes in isolation, so got whole new wishbones at the front!

I've got the full warranty brochure in PDF form but I've no idea how to post it here.
